Head of Accessories Exterior Heat Protection – Product Development leadership

Step into a role where you will be responsible for the full lifecycle delivery - from cradle to grave - of our VELUX Accessories Exterior product category consisting of e.g. roller shutters, awning blinds and mechanical parts. Meet your future team

As Head of Accessories Exterior Heat Protection (EHP), you will be based at our offices in Skjern where the majority of our Accessories development team is located. You will head a team of approximately 20 skilled and highly specialized colleagues – some focusing on our Accessories Exterior Heat Protection product portfolio consisting of exterior sun screening products such as roller shutters and awning blinds, and some dedicated to our packaging development and documentation activities. The daily operations of the Packaging and Documentation team are led by a Senior Manager who is reporting to you. You will report directly to Senior VP, Product Development Accessories, Digital Solutions & North America.

What we offer

As Head of Accessories Exterior Heat Protection (EHP), you will be responsible for the full lifecycle delivery - from cradle to grave - of the Accessories Exterior product category. This includes concept & feasibility, new product development, optimization on cost & quality, sustainability, upgrades and facelifts, and end-of-life within all new and existing accessories. Moreover, you will be responsible for packaging solutions and documentation within the area of Accessories and Digital Solutions. You will shape the long-term product strategy, portfolio and roadmap for Accessories EHP together with category management and operations & supply  and implement the product portfolio to safeguard market share, stimulate growth, minimize cost, ensure product quality and improve sustainability.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Product innovation: Create and mature innovative concepts within product category, aligned with business, market and customer needs. This includes development of products from idea to concept development, to industrialization and market launch.
     

  • Product roadmaps & complexity management: Own the technical vision, architecture, masterplan, interfaces, and roadmaps, maximizing customer value while guarding against complexity.
     

  • Cross-functional collaboration & stakeholder management: Ensure effective collaboration with Senior VP Product Development, Global Category Management, Operations & Supply, Product Regulatory Affairs, and senior stakeholders within Product Development etc. to prioritize initiatives that meet business goals.
     

  • Team leadership and development: Guide, motivate and develop your team to work as a coherent unit with clear priorities, division of responsibilities and task ownership – ensuring stable, efficient day-to-day operations.

What you will bring

Your ability to collaborate and develop relationships empowers you to effectively maneuver through multifaceted stakeholder dynamics, promoting trust within the team, and influencing key stakeholders. With your advanced communication and presentation skills, you convincingly bring your messages and vision across in a clear and concise manner. You thrive setting the direction, and with your structured mind and clear overview, you efficiently prioritize and manage the portfolio of projects and tasks to deliver on multiple priorities within a given budget.

Moreover, we expect that you bring:

  • Extensive experience in product lifecycle, end-to-end product development and development of new products.

  • Several years of leading a Product Development Department with integrated mechanical products.

  • Product development experience which has provided you with deep insights into the processes and tools within R&D.

  • Knowledge of modularization and how to bring down complexity in product portfolios.

  • Master’s degree in engineering or related field.

  • Professional level of English and Danish, spoken and written.

Knowledge of building codes and regulations is a preference.
