About our IT Audit team: Join Manulife's Technology Audit Team and play a key role in enhancing governance and risk management. Position Responsibilities:
The AVP - Audit & Advisory Services - Technology is responsible for delivering comprehensive, risk-based internal audit services and providing strategic technology audit coverage and advice across multiple business units.

  • Leads professional, cost-effective audit engagements for US, Canada, Global Wealth & Asset Management, Group Functions, and Data Technology units.
  • Partner with business audit teams to assess application/digital controls
  • Provides a unified overview of technology audit coverage, key risks, and value added insights to unit CIOs.
  • Manages operational audit delivery, relationship management, risk assessment, and audit plan development—including business audits with a technology scope.
  • Oversees staff to ensure audit plans are met and maintains membership in the Audit Services Senior Management Team.
  • Monitor the company’s strategy, operations, and regulatory environment to proactively identify emerging risks.
  • Deliver annual SOX work in collaboration with management, SOX PMO, COEs, and external audit.
  • Manage a high-performing and engaged team of technology and audit professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability, and a culture of excellence.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in audit methodologies.

Required Qualifications:   

  • 10 years of combined education and experience in an internal audit, risk, or technology function within a large multinational corporation, ideally in the Financial Services industry.
  • Leadership and stakeholder communication, including reporting to senior executives and audit committees.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams of technology and audit professionals, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of the business, customer needs, and market trends; proven ability in critical thinking and implementation.
  • Prior experience in credible management consulting, auditing, or similar strategy roles. Proven ability to influence senior leadership team members individually and collectively, and get recommendations approved and implemented.
  • A recognized auditing (CIA, CISA), accounting designation (CPA), and/or project management (PMP) designation is desired.
  • University degree in business administration, computer science, management information systems, or auditing, or equivalent experience in these fields.
  • Familiarity with OSFI, NIST, ISO27001, GDPR, SOX, PCI DSS, and other compliance mandates.

Salary range is expected to be between

$129,800.00 CAD - $241,200.00 CAD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
