The Head, Decision Management and Insights will lead a newly established team within the Finance division, responsible for proactively uncovering business insights and opportunities using advanced analytics. This role is pivotal in providing diagnostic insights on business outcomes, uncovering business opportunities through insights and driving commercial impact across the life insurance value chain.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for data-driven insights to enhance sales performance, operational efficiency, and customer experience.
- Foster a culture of data literacy and informed decision-making across all departments.
- Lead data-driven discussions on business opportunities and challenges with Senior Management
- Lead a team to analyse insurance portfolios to identify risks, opportunities, and strategies for growth and provide actionable insights into sales performance, customer acquisition, retention, and profitability.
- Design, implement, and manage robust reporting frameworks to provide real-time and accurate insights to stakeholders.
- Oversee the creation of dashboards and visualizations to allow for immediate insights to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Finance, or related field.
Experience
- 10+ years in business intelligence, business analytics, or related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise in life insurance, finance, distribution, operations, and marketing and product domains.
- Understanding of financial terms such as APE, NBP, Operating Free Surplus Generation (OFSG) and factors which contribute to these numbers
- Demonstrated ability to set up and scale a business analytics function and deliver commercial impact.
- Strong data visualization and storytelling abilities.
- Hands-on experience with statistical modelling in insurance or banking preferred.
- Proficiency in statistical models, SQL, Python, and BI tools (Power BI).
