Head, Communications and Branding

The Head of Communications and Branding will be responsible in leading the School’s communication and branding efforts to strategize, commission and drive creative communication and marketing initiatives across the full range of visual communications, publishing platforms including print, event, physical/environmental, and digital properties e.g., website and social media.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Visual Communications including Content Creation

  • Strategize and develop creative content to support the communication and marketing initiatives across the full range of visual communications publishing platforms including print, event, physical/environmental, and digital properties such as School’s website and social media platforms.

  • Work with other internal stakeholders to design marketing collaterals and campaigns for academic programmes and corporate/research reports etc.

  • Plan, research, execute and track the effectiveness of marketing campaigns to fulfill the strategic objectives outlined by the School. Able to utilize a range of techniques including paid search, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC), monitoring their performance and return on investment.

  • Proactive sourcing for information, conducting interviews and copywriting for both print and digital mediums to showcase faculty, staff and student’s achievements.

Marketing Communications

  • Build, grow and maintain stakeholder relationships to increase brand awareness and foster engagement with key target audience segments.

  • Develop and explore innovative ways to develop effective and consistent integrated marketing communication strategies across print and digital platforms to advance the School’s strategic vision, goals, and reputation.

Website Management

  • Work with other internal stakeholders in improving the usability, content, and maintenance of webpages.

  • Devise strategies to drive online traffic to the websites to act as a brand guardian in terms of look and feel of online and physical communications as well as tone of voice of copy.

  • Curate informative content for Electronic Direct Mail (EDM), social media, student clubs etc.

Outreach and Branding

  • Develop and implement outreach strategies to promote the School to potential stakeholders including prospective students (UG, PG, MSc), researchers, industry collaborators, alumni, public audiences and external vendors.

  • Collaborate with faculty, programme leads, and research teams to package and position the School’s research strengths, academic programmes, and achievements for external audiences.

  • Manage partnerships with industry, corporate entities and community stakeholders to enhance visibility and collaboration opportunities.

  • Oversee production of outreach materials (brochures, presentation decks, videos, exhibition materials) ensuring brand consistency and alignment with institutional guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Business / Communications or related field (Having engineering/science background will be an advantage).

  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience with significant strategic communications experience, including writing for social media, blogs, reports, and website.

  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in outreach, marketing of academic programmes.

  • Strong computer skills and comfort level with databases, research, social media, web pages, spreadsheets and presentations would be an advantage.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.

  • Ability to shoot (photography and/or videography) will be an asset.
