Job Description:

Job purpose

This role is responsible for providing the regional oversight for market level performance and leading efforts around development followed by execution of Sun Life long-term Banca strategies in Asia. It involves close collaboration with the leadership team and key stakeholders across regional and market teams to develop and refine strategic objectives, identify new opportunities, conduct thorough analysis, and monitor performance metrics to ensure progress towards set goals.

Major accountabilities

  • Lead the articulation of the 3B (Building Bancassurance Brilliance) execution plan across the markets. Ensure effective execution of the project inclusive of project management, market engagement across the agreed initiatives and priorities.

  • Demonstrate comprehensive Bancassurance expertise to provide expert insights and recommendations. Lead regional efforts to uplift BUs capabilities in collaboration with other regional expertise including but not limited to advanced distribution model, training and development plans, enhanced product portfolios, and data & analytics.

  • Establish “knowledge hub” leveraging the best practices and expertise in the SunLife banca markets and relevant external up-to-date competitor insights to elevate the capabilities where needed

  • Leveraging experiences and local partner resources to drive operational transformation towards a customer-centric business direction and making strategic adjustments to achieve key operational goals.

  • Collaborate with RO and BU leadership teams and key stakeholders to develop and refine strategic goals for Banca Distribution. Conduct analysis and monitor performance metrics to assess progress towards objectives. Engage with stakeholders (both internal and partners) to secure their support for strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience within the financial service and life insurance industry.

  • Deep expertise and in-depth knowledge of Banca in insurance or banks are required.

  • Strong data-driven decision-making skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.

  • Excellent written, verbal communication and data-visualization skills.

  • Good influencing skills.

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity.
