Hatchery Attendant Operator HY03—Hatchery ATTND OPR HY03
This is an operator position responsible for safely and efficiently operating hatchery equipment while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures which include following all Animal Welfare guidelines.
Tasks: Must be willing to cross-train on ALL hatchery production positions. Must be able and willing to learn how to operate a Robotic Arm, Box Washer, Stacker, and Restacker which includes learning the proper procedures to follow when starting and stopping machinery. Must be willing and able to properly clean machinery. Must be willing and able to lift boxes weighing up to approximately 50 lbs. Must be willing and able to pull pallets (dollies) of stacked boxes weighing up to approximately 500 lbs. Must also be willing and able to load/remove baskets and trays weighing 10 lbs. to 15 lbs. from machines. Must be willing and able to bend and lift a minimum of 30 lbs. from 6” high to 5’6” high repetitively. Must be willing and able to push/pull buggies of eggs weighing up to 500 lbs. Must be willing and able to cull nonviable chicks from viable chicks.
Requirements:
Schedule will be primarily Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday--start time from 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Times may vary.), but this position will also require working flexible hours, holidays, weekends, different shifts/schedules as needed.
Must have basic math/counting skills to keep up with flocks and ensure the proper number of stacks on pallets for houses. Must be willing and able to read computer screens to operate machinery. Must be willing to work flexible hours and willing to work most holidays. Must be willing to rotate jobs. Must be willing to stand/walk on concrete floors 4 to 5 days per week, 8 to 10 hours per day. Must be willing to work 6 days per week if needed. Must be willing to climb ladders/stairs. Must be willing to work in extreme hot/cold environments. Must be willing and able to tolerate chick down and the smell of rotten eggs. Must be willing to work with cleaning chemicals. Must be willing to follow all Hatchery Safety rules/regulations. Must be willing to follow all Animal Welfare Guidelines. Must be willing to wear appropriate PPE as required.
Must have six (6) months of Machine Operator experience in work history or on resume.
Must have six (6) months of continuous work history with one (1) employer within the past twenty-four (24) months in work history or on resume.

Rehire Consideration:
Max of two (2) previous Tyson Employments to be considered.
180 days (6 months) waiting period.
