Job Description

Rockwell Automation is looking for a Hardware Development Engineer with digital electronics design experience to join our ControlLogix Engineering team. You will work on the development of advanced automation control systems and contribute to hardware product development activities, including circuit design, integration, functional analysis, and regulatory compliance. In your role you will be focused on hands‑on hardware development and technical execution. Rockwell Automation offers a hybrid work model with an office located in Katowice.

You will report directly to the Hardware Manager and work within a Scrum team, collaborating with other engineers involved in the project.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design hardware in an agile team, including schematic design, component selection, and support of verification activities.
  • Work with prototypes: program devices, measure signals, debug issues, and validate design changes.
  • Prepare and maintain hardware design documentation and test reports.
  • Resolve hardware issues during development, testing, and sustaining.
  • Contribute technical work within a defined area such as processor subsystems or networking subsystems.
  • Collaborate with firmware, test, and manufacturing engineers during product development.
  • Share technical knowledge within the team as part of daily engineering work.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Engineer's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of hands‑on experience in electronics hardware design, including product development or sustaining.
  • 2-4 years of experience with digital hardware
  • Experience in electronic schematics, PCB design, and hardware analysis tools (Mentor Graphics, HyperLynx, or similar).
  • Experience participating in hardware design reviews, debugging, validation, and analysis of test results.
  • English at B2 level or higher.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Experience working with schematics, digital circuits, power supplies, and programmable logic (CPLDs/FPGAs).
  • Basic experience using Python or C++ to support hardware testing or automation.
  • Hands‑on use of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and debuggers.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation topics such as PLC systems, functional safety, or EMC requirements.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
