HACCP/FSQA Micro Technician

Job Details:

As a HACCP / FSQA Micro Technician Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality within the facility. This position involves overseeing HACCP control points, conducting inspections, and maintaining documentation to ensure compliance with food safety regulations. Your leadership and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining the integrity of our food safety programs.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Saturday & Sundays as needed to support operations.

Hours: 4:30am – 1:00 PM. Must be willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed, including overtime & weekends.

Pay: $29.30/hour. This position is eligible for overtime pay and is paid weekly

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign Work Areas: Assign work areas to HACCP techs.
  • Monitor and Review: Monitor and review HACCP control points and perform daily data verification tasks on HACCP and SSOP records.
  • Pre-Operational Inspections: Conduct daily pre-operational inspections on various departments throughout the plant.
  • Documentation: Complete all necessary documentation and follow up on noncompliance, reporting the effectiveness of preventive measures.
  • Audits and Policies: Conduct SSOP and GMP audits and monitor and enforce GMP policies.
  • Pest Control: Monitor the pest control program.
  • Computer Entry: Perform computer entry for HACCP and SSOP program documentation.
  • Foreign Materials Investigation: Assist with in-plant foreign materials findings investigation.
  • Emergency Assistance: Assist team members in case of emergencies or during slack time.
  • Thermometer Calibrations: Perform thermometer calibrations.
  • Mechanical Issues: Inform supervisor of any mechanical breakdown or problem.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Environment: Normal for a food manufacturing setting.
  • Physical Requirements: Involves lifting materials and products up to 70 pounds.
  • Safety Equipment: Use of steel-toed work boots, hardhats, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and smocks is required.
  • Restrictions: Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED.

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of FSQA or HACCP related experience.

Certifications:

  • HACCP certified or the ability/willingness to obtain.

Computer Skills:

  • Basic computer skills.

Communication Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Specific Skills:

  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Ability to read and write to complete daily audits and paperwork.
  • Must be able to meet essential job functions for this job classification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position involves heavy lifting (70 lbs. or more).
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day
  • Must work in cold/hot temperatures
  • Must be able to work in wet environment
  • Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling
  • Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently
  • Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends
  • Position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification
