You Are:

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Director to lead our growth strategy in the strategic Huntsville market. This individual will be responsible for building a robust pipeline and capturing new business focused on the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), U.S. Army (PEO Missiles and Space, SMDC, ACC-Redstone), U.S. Space Command, and related Intelligence Community partners. This is more than a sales role; it is a leadership position requiring the creation of a comprehensive Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy, deep client and partner engagement, and a tangible investment in the local community. The ideal candidate will have an established network in Huntsville and a proven track record of shaping opportunities and winning large-scale defense contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Go-to-Market Strategy & Pipeline Development:
  • Develop and execute a multi-year GTM strategy to establish and expand our footprint in the Huntsville market.
  • Build and manage a qualified pipeline of opportunities, creating detailed business cases for pursuit and investment.
  • Target key clients (MDA, DAF, Army, Intel) with tailored white papers, briefings, and introductory meetings focused on introducing Accenture’s core capabilities
  • Create and maintain a "demand list" of actionable task orders and opportunities, with a primary focus on the Golden Dome contract vehicle.
  1. Client Engagement & Strategic Capture:
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for key government customers and industry partners in Huntsville, conducting in-person engagements at least monthly.
  • Lead strategic capture efforts for major programs, including shaping requirements and influencing acquisition strategies.
  1. Market Leadership & Community Investment:
  • Champion and execute a  staffing campaign in collaboration with Talent Acquisition to build a local workforce s
  • Work with the marketing team to launch a targeted social and digital media campaign to position the company as a premier partner for Huntsville's mission challenges, particularly for Golden Dome.
  • Represent the company as a thought leader in the community through participation in local industry events, panels, and forums.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 10-15+ years of experience in business development, capture management, or program management within the DoW and/or Intelligence Community.
  • Demonstrated and current relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within MDA, Army PEO Missiles and Space, Army Materiel Command, Space Command, and/or related organizations in the Huntsville area.
  • Proven track record of successfully capturing prime contracts and task orders valued at $5M+.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to effectively communicate complex solutions in areas like secure cloud, digital engineering, cybersecurity, and data analytics.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.

Preferred:

  • Direct experience with missile defense systems, space domain awareness, or C5ISR programs.
  • Experience with MDA specific contract vehicles
  • Experience with federal budget cycles and congressional engagement.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance

 

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Vermont, the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
