As Sustainability Data & Insights Analyst, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring Bupa uses the best environmental and social data to inform decisions and accelerate our net zero transition. Working closely with sustainability and non-sustainability teams, you’ll provide insights, improve data quality, and support governance processes.

A key focus will be calculating and interpreting Bupa’s Scope 3 emissions footprint throughout 2026, while enhancing data and upskilling stakeholders on methodology and reporting. You’ll also have the opportunity to broaden your responsibilities by supporting and co-ordinating the Group Sustainability team with delivery of our Net Zero Transition.

How you’ll help us make health happen:

Producing data-driven insights

  • Support ESG / sustainability data collation and reporting processes for internal use as well as any external disclosure requirements.

  • Using your experience and knowledge of data analysis, support core decision making with insights from sustainability metrics and KPIs tracked as part of the sustainability strategy.

  • Facilitate the effective engagement of Bupa’s leadership team and MUs with insights that support key governance meetings.

  • Support insights development and thought leadership for Bupa’s coalitions, white papers, external reporting and internal engagement forums.

  • Support with enhancing data flow, automation and reporting via the introduction of technological data architecture solutions.

Transition planning and decarbonisation support

  • Support with data collection, improvements, analytics and interpretation for Bupa’s transition planning programme.

  • Work with complex models to support transition planning activities (e.g., Scope 3 forecasting and measuring progress against decarbonisation, climate risks and opportunities quantification).

  • Engage with cross-functional teams to develop and monitor KPI and internal-target progress linked to Bupa’s transition plan.

  • Support Group, MU and functional teams in reducing emissions and demonstrating progress against our scope 3 science-based target.

  • Support with implementation of climate resilience initiatives as part of transition planning.

GHG emissions reporting support

Scope 3:

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to calculate the Group scope 3 footprint throughout 2026.

  • Guide and support key Group and MU teams to enhance Bupa’s scope 3 data quality.

  • Manage the upkeep of reporting governance documentation.

  • Stay abreast of sector and best practice developments in value chain accounting and decarbonisation.

  • Upskill Non-Financial Reporting teams in current scope 3 modelling and methodology.

  • Support the Group Sustainability Specialist with transitioning scope 3 reporting responsibilities to Bupa’s Non-Financial Reporting teams.

Scope 1 & 2:

  • Co-ordinate scope 1 and 2 reporting for Group Functions, as per the Non-Financial Reporting team processes.

  • Be comfortable with collecting, cleaning and managing Group Functions emissions data in established ESG systems, ensuring timely and accurate scope 1 and 2 disclosure.

  • Working with Non-Financial Reporting and Financial Systems teams as and when required.

Skills & Experience needed for this role:

  • This is an entry level – junior role; previous experience of sustainability/ESG data, metrics, and reporting is required, preferably within a large, global organisation.
