Job Description:
Operating as a part of the Business Bank, the Small Business Credit center is comprised of a team of Group Managers, credit analysts and credit managers focused on delivering timely credit decisions to our partners in the retail network across the country. We strive to deliver first time right credit decisions, with a focus on growing market share while at the same time managing our risk appetite and regulatory framework. Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Group Manager is responsible for leading, motivating and developing their respective team of credit analysts and managers. The job involves acting as a Small Business Banking subject matter expert and maintaining a high standard of work quality and an excellent relationship with our partners.

The successful candidate will demonstrate proactive leadership by helping employees and providing legendary customer service. Coach employees to ensure that they handle customer situations properly and participate in problem solving when necessary. Lead and coach a team to improve strategies for providing good customer experience and enhance procedures. Lead and implement the staff development process to enhance their personal and professional skills through courses available internally or externally, as required. Improve employee experience. Create and promote a cohesive team and foster a positive work environment. Meet quality and compliance standards and take measures to achieve bank team targets.
This role requires the incumbent to be flexible to multiple shift priorities to align with business needs.
Job Requirements:
Previous Small Business Banking or Commercial sales/lending experience is preferred
Previous People management experience would be considered an asset
Motivate and develop team using performance management practices, manage development plans and energize employees through reward and recognition.
The incumbent must have proven leadership, relationship management and people skills
Knowledge of adjudication of credit applications processes / activities that may involve numerous systems and range in complexity from medium to high
Advanced knowledge of the business bank and operational functions supported
Ability to resolve escalation of issues raised from other internal groups, partners and/or customers
Relationship management expertise to work with cross-functional teams across TDBG
Ability to handle critical and/or high-risk issues, determining the most appropriate course of action for resolution
Experience in dealing with ambiguity and complex, risk oriented, time sensitive issues which may impact a significant part of the organization
Proven leadership ability to support the Unit in the Unit Leader's absence
Experience in supporting operational initiatives as a business subject matter expert
The incumbent should be an energetic self-starter with good organizational and people skills and able to interact with all levels of staff as well as outside partners
Effectively execute ongoing project and process improvements
Identify, recommend, and implement process and structural changes to improve efficiency
Refine individual and team metrics and coach to improve productivity
Oversee the accurate completion of documents and adhere to operating standards and procedures
Ensure prompt and thorough resolution of complex customer issues
