Organizational Overview
Brookhaven National Laboratory is seeking a highly-skilled technical and strategic leader for the Applications and Software Engineering department within the Information Technology Division (ITD). With a strong focus on helping lead the organization’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) modernization efforts, this individual will bring forward a strong sense of strategy, design, and execution with our key business partners and stakeholders.
With a broad portfolio of legacy, custom, and commercial applications, constructing and delivering on a prioritized modernization plan built with our partners will be a key ongoing deliverable. The individual must balance and optimize investment opportunities, operational efficiency, and business outcome delivery in conjunction with business partners and Lab leadership.
The position requires a strong technical background in enterprise financial and related systems, project/program management, and an ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to align that portfolio with business needs. Additionally, the ability to build and manage strategic vendor relationships that will help the organization achieve and maintain a stable and responsive portfolio of applications is crucial. It is expected that this leader will help our organization adopt and utilize modern cloud-based ERP-related services and platforms.
Reporting to the ITD Applications department manager, this position oversees a development team comprised of full-time internal staff and contractors, and a portfolio of on-premises applications, customizations, and related integrations. They work with their peers and senior ITD leadership to drive application strategy and execution, overseeing projects through completion. They work in close collaboration with business partners and application stakeholders.

Brookhaven Laboratory is committed to providing fair, equitable and competitive compensation. The full salary range for this position is $133550 - $222500/year. Salary offers will be commensurate with the final candidate’s qualification, education and experience and considered with the internal peer group.
