Position: Group Leader, Production Maintenance Non-Sterile

Location: Manati, PR

Night shift: Mon- Fri (2:00pm to 10:30 pm)

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Supervision

•          Assists Maintenance Manager with the daily coordination of maintenance activities

•          Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians and engineers.

•          Assign work orders, prioritize tasks, and monitor completion.

•          Conduct regular team meetings focusing on safety, performance, and improvement

Maintenance Execution & Planning

•          Oversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities for equipment, utilities, and facilities.

•          Coordinate with production and engineering departments to schedule maintenance without disrupting operations.

•          Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (cGMP, safety, environmental).

•          Use maintenance management tools (CMMS/ERP) to record activities.

Continuous Improvement & Reliability

•          Promote and implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles.

•          Analyze equipment performance data and drive improvement projects to eliminate recurring failures.

•          Collaborate on equipment optimization projects.

•          Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures.

Administration & Reporting

•          Track and report maintenance KPIs (e.g., equipment uptime, MTTR, maintenance costs).

•          Maintain accurate documentation of work orders, equipment history, and compliance records.

•          Support audits and provide documentation as required.

•          Prepare and deliver presentation materials to effectively communicate project progress and outcomes to Management.

Safety & Compliance

•          Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely and in accordance with company policies.

•          Lead incident investigations and ensure actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.

•          Complies with Federal and Local Regulatory Agencies (e.g., OSHA, EPA, FDA, DEA, etc).

Budget & Resource Management

•          Assist with the maintenance budget, inventory of spare parts, and vendor management.

•          Monitor and control expenses within assigned area.

Qualifications & Experience:

•          BS in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering or related technical field. 

•          Eight (8) years of experience in production maintenance in pharmaceutical operations or manufacturing processes with at least five (5) years of experience of supervisory experience or associate degree concentrated on Mechanical/Electrical with ten (10) years’ experience in the operation/maintenance of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment (e.g. e.g. Inspection and Packaging process).

•          Knowledge of cGMP’s, SOP’s, Federal and local regulatory requirements.

•          Proficient in the use of computer software (Work, Excel, Power Point, CMMS, BAS, PLC & Training software packages).

•          Able to interact effectively with people to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external customers at all organizational levels and disciplines in such a way to facilitate the validation/qualification work.

•          Proven ability to develop short- and long-term strategic plans to meet business direction/initiatives and comply with all legal obligations.

•          Demonstrated ability to influence and interact at all levels in the organization.

•          Ability to balance competing priorities while completing agreed objectives upon projects in a timely manner.

•          Good documentation skills

•          Effective written and oral communication skills, both English and Spanish. Good negotiating skills with contract services relative to prices and technology

•          Good interpersonal relationship skills

•          Knowledge of mechanical concepts, electrical controls theory and electronic circuitry.

•          Able to read, interpret, and understand electrical/mechanical drawings.

•          Good technical writing skills and ability to review SOPs and work instructions

•          Significant abilities and aptitude to analyze data detecting inconsistencies, determining relative importance and to solve complex technical situations based on data

•          Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.

•          Willing to work irregular hours, different shifts, weekends and holidays, when necessary

Compensation Overview:

Manati - PR - US: $25.26 - $30.61per hour

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off

  • US Exempt Employees: flexible time off (unlimited, with manager approval, 11 paid national holidays (not applicable to employees in Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico or Rayzebio employees)

  • Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays

Based on eligibility* additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.
