What is the Role?

The Insurance Assistant will provide essential support within the Group Insurance team in the renewal and management of Howden’s insurances across the Group globally.

This is a great opportunity to understand insurance from a client perspective and develop knowledge of a complex global programme across all insurance classes, including Professional Indemnity (E&O), Cyber, Directors & Officers Liability (D&O), Crime, PA/Travel and Commercial Combined. This role is key to maintaining compliance, supporting renewals, and assisting with policy administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the administration of the Group Insurance Programme across all lines of cover.
  • Maintain policy schedules, endorsements, and renewal documentation.
  • Support data collection for renewals.
  • Review claims records and liaise with insurers for updates.
  • Update internal systems with policy and claims information.
  • Support Group Insurance adherence to regulatory requirements and internal risk management policies.
  • Respond to internal queries regarding insurance coverage.
  • Coordinate with brokers and insurers for policy clarifications and endorsements.
  • Maintain organised filing systems.
  • Support the team with ad hoc administrative tasks.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in insurance administration or junior insurance broking role.
  • Knowledge of corporate insurance lines such as E&O, D&O, Cyber, and Commercial Combined would be beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Good communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background.
  • Desirable: Certificate in Insurance (CII) or willingness to work towards it.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
