As Head of the Particle Laboratory you will be part of the department 'Analytical Development & QC Biotech” in Basel, Switzerland. The department is responsible for Analytical Method Development, Quality Control and Compliance required for Analytics of Biopharmaceuticals from pre IND application to BLA and Launch.
The particle laboratory is the European center of excellence (CoE) for characterization of sub-visible and visible particles in parenteral dosage forms during pharmaceutical development and drug product quality control/stability studies.
In his role you will be responsible for:
Leading, Development and Managing: You will lead a cross-functional group of particle experts fostering a collaborative, supportive and high performing environment of a recognized particle expert team
Serving as particle expert for all development projects: You will coordinate and prioritize all necessary particle characterisation activities using cutting-edge technologies to ensure efficient support of portfolio projects and support particle-related root-cause analyses and investigations
Stakeholder Management and Strategic Influence: Drive collaboration and alignment with cross-functional partners (e.g. Pharmaceutical Development, SM Analytical Development, commercial particle labs) and actively contribute to global workstreams focused on particle control strategies representing the particle lab as CoE
Technology & Unwavering Quality: Leading the team's operational focus and strategic direction including evaluation and further development of new technologies for particle characterization. Ensure all experimental work in the laboratory adheres to stringent quality standards, maintaining data integrity for non-GMP

You bring the following key skills, combining technical depth with leadership and strategic vision:
PhD/Master in Biochemistry, Pharmacy, or similar scientific along with 5 years of experience in biopharmaceutical industry with focus on particle characterization, protein/peptide analytics, and/or pharmaceutical development of parenterals
Team Leadership and People Development: Proven ability to lead and inspire a scientific team, manage experimental work, and provide dedicated leadership support for people development and clear accountabilities
Proven track cross-functional collaboration along with strategic foresight with success in building trustful relationships
Deep expertise in development of new technologies and analytical methods for particle characterization in parenteral dosage forms
Statistical expertise and high affinity to digitalization is preferred
