We make health happen
Bupa’s mission is to help members live longer, healthier and happier lives by becoming one of the world’s most digitised healthcare companies – and we invite you to join us.
Healthcare is undergoing a major transformation, accelerated by COVID-19. Technologies such as mobile, AI and advanced analytics are reshaping how we diagnose, treat and care for people. As digital technology disrupts healthcare, our global Technology teams need the right skills, support and development opportunities to thrive.
The Group Head of Technology Professions plays a pivotal role in shaping and
delivering Bupa’s cross-market unit (MU) workforce and talent strategy for
Technology. A key element of this strategy is the development and implementation of a modern, skills-based Technology Professions model — a structured framework that defines roles, skills, career pathways and development resources across core Technology domains.
This role will lead the ongoing development, improvement and deployment of the Technology Professions model and its supporting resources, working closely with regional CIO teams to tailor implementation to local needs. It will also heavily support the next phase of the workforce strategy: Technology Talent Management.
How you’ll help us make health happen:
Set the vision and strategy for technology professions globally, ensuring alignment with Bupa’s digital transformation goals.
Design and implement career frameworks that define clear pathways for progression and development across all technology roles.
Lead capability-building initiatives, including professional communities, mentoring programmes and learning solutions to future-proof skills.
Partner with senior leaders and HR teams to embed technology talent strategies into workforce planning and organisational design.
Champion diversity and inclusion within technology teams, creating an environment where everyone can thrive and contribute.
Monitor emerging trends and technologies, advising on how these impact skills requirements and shaping proactive responses.
Drive engagement and retention by creating compelling propositions for technology professionals, ensuring Bupa is seen as an employer of choice.
What you'll bring:
Extensive experience in technology leadership or HR with a strong track record in talent strategy, capability development or workforce planning.
Deep understanding of digital transformation and the skills required to deliver technology-enabled change.
Proven ability to influence at executive level, building strong relationships and driving consensus across global teams.
Expertise in designing career frameworks and learning programmes, ideally within complex, matrix organisations.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, able to translate business needs into actionable talent strategies.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to inspire and engage diverse audiences.
Passion for people and technology, with a commitment to fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
