Global Finance Team
The Global Finance team connects strategy with execution across 37 markets, ensuring financial accuracy, transparency, and sustainable growth at scale. Within Global Controlling, this role sits at the centre of international finance operations, partnering closely with Accounting, FP&A, Tax, ERP, ICFR and local finance teams across Europe to strengthen statutory compliance and elevate group-level reporting standards. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape how SumUp operates globally by improving processes, strengthening governance, and raising the bar on financial control.
đ Get to know our Sofia office
Own designated legal entities end to end, including capitalisation, P&L by function, cash flow, statutory compliance, and high-quality financial reporting
Lead month-end and annual closing activities, with direct accountability for complex and judgement-heavy topics such as transfer pricing and chargebacks
Conduct structured balance sheet reviews, identify gaps, and drive remediation actions that strengthen financial integrity and support IPO readiness
Lead external audits and ensure timely, accurate submission of statutory financial statements
Review accounting entries and reconciliations with a strong focus on material risk areas and overall balance sheet health
Partner cross-functionally with Tax, Accounting Operations, FP&A and Global Process Owners to improve controls, reporting standards, and scalable Controlling processes
Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP financial reporting principles is already in place
Proven experience owning legal entities end to end and navigating statutory compliance requirements has been built in a complex environment
Advanced understanding of complex accounting topics such as transfer pricing, consolidation, and balance sheet risk areas is part of the professional toolkit
Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent has been completed
Confidence working across functions and guiding stakeholders toward clear, practical solutions is paired with a structured and results-oriented approach
