Grounds Maintenance Lead Technician

Salary: £31,000 

Full time: 37 hrs a week/permanent   

Location:  Grafham Water 

Protecting parks and people.

This position will be based from our Grafham Water site but will involve travelling to other sites.  

Grafham Water is a stunning 1,500-acre reservoir and visitor attraction for outdoor adventure, nature appreciation and relaxation.

As well as our commercial sites, our Parks offer a range of activities, such as sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, and fishing on the reservoir, as well as cycling and walking along its well-maintained trails. There are designated picnic spots and play areas, making it the perfect family day out.  

What will you be doing? 

   

As a Grounds Maintenance Lead Technician at AVH Parks, you will take a lead role in both the delivery and overseeing the daily operations of a ground's maintenance team. You will support the Grounds Team Leader by coordinating tasks, supervising staff, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality maintenance across the park. Your leadership will help maintain a safe, attractive, and welcoming environment for public access, while promoting a unified “One Park, One Team, One Experience” culture

What does it take to become a Grounds Maintenance Lead Technician?  

  • Provide daily support to the Grounds Team Leader ensuring that standards and processes are maintained at all times.

  • Provide daily supervision, guidance, and support to permanent and seasonal grounds staff.

  • Promote a flexible, multi-skilled team capable of adapting to seasonal and customer demands.

  • Lead by example in work ethic, professionalism, and customer service.

  • Skills and/or experience in ground maintenance operations 

  • Enthusiasm, excellent people management, and communication skills 

  • A full UK driving licence   

  • Commercial focus

In addition to the above it would also be desirable to have: 

  • A horticultural qualification  

  • Experience in using horticultural machinery  

  • PA1 & PA6 pesticide licence 

  • Chainsaw certificate CS30 / CS31
