Graphics Tufting Lead

Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role will be to coordinate production of the Graphics Tufting processes to create high-quality graphics on artificial turf products. The Graphics Tufting Lead will be responsible for managing process flows, ensuring physical and systematic material transactions are performed correctly, understanding and troubleshooting graphics tufting machines, coating machines, and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tufting operations, strong computer skills, strong communication skills (bilingual required), a keen eye for detail, quality-minded and possess moderate mechanical aptitude.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate production plan daily with Graphics Tufting Operators and Utilities.
  • Collaborate with design team as needed to understand required specifications of logos.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership from day shift at the beginning and end of shift to discuss production performance and any specific objectives or issues.
  • Maintain detailed shift notes and report out electronically at the end of shift.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment malfunctions or issues that may arise during the production process.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tufting machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing mechanical wear parts such as needles and knives.
  • Perform or assist with tufting, changeover, and autonomous maintenance processes.
  • Perform or assist with backing coating processes, repair or quality assurance processes, backing removal and adjustment processes, and turf shearing process.
  • Audit inventory records for material allocation and consumption accuracy.
  • Follow all safety protocols and adhere to company policies and procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Conduct oneself as safety champion in all activities holding all Graphics Tufting personnel accountable.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Supervision and or Management.
  • Additional shift responsibilities may be assigned such as process or work cell additions.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for entirety of shift (12 hours).
  • Must be bilingual (English / Spanish)

Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required; or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
