CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Graphic Designer processes and creates digital and hand-rendered graphic images for output to film, hard copy, multi-image, or large-format media. The Graphic Designer oversees the printing of produced materials to multiple internal and external output services. The incumbent maintains the inventory of expandable materials while also monitoring industry trends.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Assists in the design and development of ads, brochures, posters, signage, and other printed materials for University publication and distribution.
2. Works with a wide range of media and uses graphic design software.
3. Thinks creatively and develops new design concepts, graphics, and layouts.
4. Prepares rough drafts and presents creative ideas.
5. Designs and creates departmental, faculty, and staff webpages.
6. Recommends and supplies digital photographic files for publications and websites.
7. Performs digital videotape transfer and off-line editing for faculty and staff materials.
8. Converts video to digital format and produces video clips to be used in different publications or presentations.
9. Amends final designs for comments and obtains final approval.
10. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required

Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required

Certification and Licensing:
Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements
