The Opportunity:
Washington State University is now accepting applications for a Grants and Contracts Specialist Pre-Award to manage pre-award activities for the College of Arts and Sciences within the Grants and Fellowship Team. In this role you will use your knowledge of grant and contract management rules and regulations, technical expertise, and analytical skills. You will contribute information and ideas related to your areas of responsibility as part of a cross functional team, perform pre-award activities while ensuring effective and efficient workflow, and adhere to quality standards for faculty and staff.
Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $4,508.70 - $6,250.00 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, database, word processing, email and calendaring software.
Experience with budget and management of financial resources.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pre-award grant administration experience.
Current experience working with federal, state, and private agency regulations, policies, laws and regulations, and OMB Circulars (A-133, A110, A-21).
Experience with rapidly reviewing and providing detailed, accurate analysis of complex contract documents written procedures and correspondence.
Experience in a higher education environment.
Experience which demonstrates familiarity with programs and processes of granting agencies, including federal agencies, as well as corporate and private sponsors.
Experience developing and monitoring budgets.
Post-award grant administration experience
Research Administration Series through Human Resource Services (HRS) or equivalent Research Administration training.
Ability to work under imminent deadlines.
