Position Summary

The Grant Specialist I will play a vital role in the sponsored project life cycle for the Project ARK/Ryan White team. This includes ensuring that research proposals adhere to sponsor guidelines and are successfully submitted. They will also support faculty, program directors, and staff through pre-award and post-award stages of sponsored projects, including proposal preparation and compliance.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Proposal/Grant Management including preparation and submission to ensure guidelines and terms and conditions are met; 
  • Award Management for Ryan White awards including providing internal NOAs, award set up, and submission of required award reports.
  • Research Compliance including coordinating the necessary support with internal and external requests for grant-related information.
  • Assist with some post award activities such as resolving accounting issues, managing year-end processes, overseeing fund management, reviewing and approving purchases, and coordinating with purchasing processes to ensure appropriate expenditures and justifications are completed.
  • Other duties as assigned including attendance at program meetings and assisting with other administrative duties as necessary.

OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:

  • Work collaboratively with program managers and QI team to ensure that pre-award and post-award components are in alignment with goals
  • Completion of expense reporting and auditing of award fiscal components to ensure justification and compliance for all expenses.
  • Establish partnerships with vendors, following procurement policy and procedures, and ensure that vendors are meeting contractual needs for the award program

    Salary Range

    $25.47 - $39.49 / Hourly

    The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
