Position Overview

The Graduate Recruitment and Enrollment Coordinator at Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) is a vital contributor to student enrollment success through dynamic outreach and recruitment efforts and a strong commitment to personalized assistance throughout the admissions process. Reporting to both the Vice President of Enrollment Management and Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Graduate Recruitment and Enrollment Coordinator leads the planning, development, and implementation of strategies to identify, recruit, and enroll graduate students for both face-to-face and online programs. This position serves as a key liaison between prospective and current graduate students, academic departments, and administrative offices, ensuring a seamless and supportive journey from inquiry to enrollment. The position supports strategic enrollment growth across master’s and doctoral programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruitment & Outreach

  • Coordinates university-wide graduate student outreach and recruitment activities in collaboration with campus partners, the College of Graduate Studies, Enrollment Management, and academic departments.
  • Represents TAMUK’s graduate programs at regional and broader events, both in person and virtually—including presentations, information sessions, campus visits, resource tables, application workshops, and webinars.
  • Collaborates with TAMUK Marketing and Communications to design targeted recruitment campaigns for specific populations (e.g., working professionals, military-affiliated students, international prospects).
  • Travels frequently for recruitment-related duties, including overnight and international trips, on occasion, as required.

Strategy & Analytics

  • Develops and implements data-informed recruitment strategies aligned with institutional priorities; analyzes application-to-enrollment trends and recommends improvements.
  • Generates reports and metrics to monitor progress toward enrollment goals.
  • Analyze application, admission, and enrollment trends to identify opportunities for improved recruitment outcomes.
  • Evaluate recruitment campaign effectiveness and assess ROI of events and initiatives.

Admissions & Student Support

  • Guides prospective students through the admissions, financial aid, scholarship, and application processes, assisting with questions and troubleshooting issues to ensure a positive experience.
  • Conduct pre-enrollment advising to ensure applicants understand program requirements and expectations.
  • Develop informational materials, FAQs, and communication templates for prospective students.

Technology & Systems

  • Utilizes CRM systems (e.g., Slate) and other technology platforms to manage inquiries, admissions, and enrollment workflows; works with Microsoft Office and data visualization tools as needed.
  • Generates dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Microsoft Office tools and other analytics platforms.

Collaboration & Governance

  • Meets regularly with deans, colleges, and the graduate enrollment team to implement and refine strategic plans.
  • Promotes a culture of collaboration among prospective students, staff, faculty, and campus stakeholders.
  • Works with Marketing & Communications to develop graduate recruitment content for web, print, and social platforms.
  • Participates in university committees related to enrollment, retention, and student success.
  • Supports academic departments in developing recruitment collateral and messaging tailored to their programs.

Qualifications

Required Education

Master’s degree in an applicable field.

Required Experience

One year of related experience with online and face-to-face student recruitment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years of related experience with student recruitment in higher-education, graduate enrollment systems, CRM platforms, and international recruitment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of graduate recruitment and admissions practices in higher education.
  • Ability to develop effective recruitment programs and materials, and plan/co-ordinate group events.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms (such as Slate) and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI) is a plus.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and report on recruitment and enrollment data.
  • Ability to multitask, work cooperatively with others, and adapt to changing priorities.

Additional Information

A federal proclamation issued on September 19, 2025, imposes a $100,000 fee on new H-1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025. Texas A&M University-Kingsville will not pay this fee.
