Ameresco is seeking a motivated Graduate Engineer to join our Operations & Maintenance team. You will gain experience managing the performance, maintenance, and reliability of energy systems including heat networks, renewable generation, and building energy assets. This role offers structured training and mentorship to develop your technical and operational skills and learn to be responsible for managing the operational delivery of projects, ensuring smooth coordination between contractors, suppliers, and internal teams. Your role will include overseeing installation schedules, maintenance programs, and performance monitoring of EV charging assets, Solar and Wind farms across commercial and public sites.

Experience in related technologies such as Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Combined Heat and Power (CHP), Heat Pumps, Building Management Systems, or gas boiler systems will be advantageous.

This role is an operational role with the need to meet with clients (mainly online), understand their needs and develop models, systems or strategies to meet requirements. You will need to be au fait with all Microsoft it systems and make reasonable effort to learn other systems as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of infrastructure, including installation, commissioning, and maintenance back office activities.

  • Manage contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and safety standards.

  • Develop and implement preventative and reactive maintenance schedules.

  • Monitor asset performance and coordinate fault resolution with technical teams.

  • Maintain accurate operational records and ensure timely reporting.

  • Liaise with project managers, clients, and manufacturers to ensure successful delivery and ongoing support.

  • Drive continuous improvement of operational processes and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with UK regulations and company health and safety policies.

Qualifications & Certifications (UK):

While this is an operations-focused role, an understanding of electrical standards and infrastructure is preferable. Candidates should ideally have:

  • Knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and IET Code of Practice for EV charging installations.

  • Familiarity with AC/DC hardware and back office systems.

  • Full UK Driving Licence (Essential).

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Good understanding of networked systems (Wi-Fi, SIM-based comms, OCPP protocol).

  • IT literacy and ability to work with asset management systems is a must, proven skills with data handling are essential.

  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid environment.

Working Conditions:
