Are you ready to apply your engineering skills to meaningful, real-world challenges? As a Graduate Fire Safety Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to projects nationwide across a diverse range of sectors, including buildings, defence, and transport infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience in performance-based fire safety design, developing holistic strategies that protect people, buildings, and critical assets. Through mentorship and involvement in live projects, you’ll build a solid foundation in fire safety engineering and play a key role in shaping safer, more resilient environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess how fires start, spread, and impact structures and occupants.
• Apply scientific and engineering principles to reduce fire risk, protect people and assets, and ensure compliance with relevant building codes and standards.
• Conduct fire and smoke modelling, pedestrian egress modelling, and risk assessments to inform fire safety strategies.
• Prepare technical documentation including fire safety strategy reports, performance-based design briefs, and fire engineering reports outlining design solutions.
Who are you?
We’re looking for a motivated and curious graduate who is eager to build a career in fire safety engineering. To be successful in this role, you will hold a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, structural, aerospace, chemical, or a related engineering discipline. You will bring strong problem-solving and analytical skills, effective communication and interpersonal capability, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain required clearances are essential for this position.
