Stryker are delighted to be hiring talented Software / Mechanical / Electrical Engineers for our “R&D Graduate Programme” – to begin in September 2026. 

The “R&D Graduate Programme” is a 24-month structured graduate development programme in the R&D function. The programme rotates on a 6-month rotating assignment basis in order to learn and develop the basic knowledge and skills in the various engineering areas of expertise. The position rotates on a 6 monthly assignment basis: 

  • Design  
  • Advanced Operations / Research and Technology Development 
  • Advanced Quality Engineering  
  • Engineering Services (CAD/Prototype/Test Lab)

During each rotational assignment participants will be responsible for: 

Software:

  • Translating user needs to design inputs/specifications and producing component and sub-system level designs.
  • Owning the design, implementation, and testing of software modules, and performing associated software development tasks (configuration management, issue/bug tracking, and risk management).
  • Using version control to keep an easily traceable and documented history of development.
  • Using standard software methodologies to ensure code is readable, understandable and maintainable.
  • Investigation, design, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology.  
  • Handover of new processes from development to production. 
  • Debugging and correcting design issues using independent judgment.
  • Independently balancing design trade-offs while designing a component of the system.


Mechanical:

  • Participating in various project teams. 
  • Work with a highly creative design team to invent and develop innovative new product concepts.  
  • Investigation, design, development and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology.  
  • Handover of new processes from development to production. 
  • Implement quality systems and work closely with Design, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering. 
  • Provide process validation support both internally and with vendors.  
  • Develop and qualify new test equipment and methods.  
  • Research, specify and qualify new test or prototyping equipment. 

Electrical:
 

  • Investigating, designing, developing and implementing new devices and technology.
  • Accelerating the launch of new products by removing the technology unknowns
  • Working within the quality systems and work closely with Design, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering. 
  • Providing process validation support both internally and with vendors.  
  • Developing and qualifying new test equipment and methods.  
  • Researching, specifying and qualifying new test or prototyping equipment. 
  • Designing circuits including but not limited to Schematic Capture, Layout and Failure Mode Analysis for PCBA’s, Cables and other electromechanical components.
  • Independently designing and developing electrical components and sub-systems for medical devices.
  • Conducting advanced problem-solving, identifying potential solutions, and evaluating them against component and sub-system requirements.
