Summary of Job Duties:

The Graduate Assistant will arrange and describe materials for inclusion in the online catalog, digitize appropriate documents, and document preservation, address patron requests, work the reference desk, assist in writing grants, and social media posts. All these tasks and skills are required within the archival profession. The position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.


Qualifications:

​Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education;

  • Regular admission to a UA Little Rock graduate degree program or good standing with the UA Little Rock Graduate School for continuing graduate students;

  • Ability to work the required hours (FT-50%-20 hours a week/PT-25% -10 hours per week) with regular attendance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Arrange and describe materials for inclusion in the online catalog;

  • Work the reference desk;

  • attend regular reading discussions;

  • create social media posts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of US and Arkansas history;

  • Knowledge of MS Office systems;

  • Ability to work collegiately with others.
