The Role and Impact Are you passionate about computer graphics and Linux device driver development? As a GPU Software Development Engineer, you will play a critical role in enabling Intel GPUs and advancing the graphics and compute capabilities of our products. You will contribute to the development and validation of software across the entire stack, from firmware and device drivers to APIs and application layers. Your work will directly impact Intel's cutting-edge integrated and discrete graphics products, driving performance, reliability, and innovation. Key Responsibilities - Develop and validate software that enables Intel GPUs for Linux operating systems and open-source kernel drivers. - Dive deep into Intel's Linux GPU software stack, contributing to the creation of industry-leading features. - Design, develop, test, debug, and optimize device drivers, ensuring high-quality code and system reliability. - Collaborate with open-source communities and Intel's cross-business teams to implement innovative solutions. - Analyze performance and power metrics, driving improvements in efficiency and scalability. - Provide technical expertise and support for upstream Linux kernel contributions and driver development.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Electrical/Electronics Engineering, with at least 3+ years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience. - Proficiency in C and Python programming. - Strong understanding of Linux Operating System architecture and device driver models. - Hands-on experience in Linux kernel development and debugging. - Demonstrated ability to work in large-scale software product development teams. Preferred Qualifications - Familiarity with open-source Linux kernel contributions and practices. - Experience with the Linux DRM subsystem and graphics software stack. - Debugging expertise, including root cause analysis and bug resolution for device drivers. - Knowledge of Linux power management flows and pre-silicon simulation/emulation environments. - Strong scripting skills in Shell and Python. The Software Team drives customer value by enabling differentiated experiences through leadership AI technologies and foundational software stacks, products, and services. The group is responsible for developing the holistic strategy for client and data center software in collaboration with OSVs, ISVs, developers, partners and OEMs. The group delivers specialized NPU IP to enable the AI PC and GPU IP to support all of Intel's market segments. The group also has HW and SW engineering experts responsible for delivering IP, SOCs, runtimes, and platforms to support the CPU and GPU/accelerator roadmap, inclusive of integrated and discrete graphics.
