Your day at NTT DATA

The Government Relations Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with local labor laws, visa regulations, and government systems.

This role is responsible for managing regulatory processes, maintaining accurate documentation, and liaising with government authorities to support business operations and workforce readiness.

The Government Relations Specialist must demonstrate strong attention to detail, regulatory knowledge, and relationship-building skills to ensure smooth compliance and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manage activities and maintain compliance on government portals and systems to ensure compliance with employment, workforce regulations, residency or work permits, social insurance, and business registration requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely processing of employment contracts, workforce reporting, and employee information updates.
  • Administer mandatory social insurance contributions and ensure compliance to avoid penalties and business restrictions.
  • Oversee issuance of official documents such as salary certificates and experience letters.
  • Manage medical insurance processes including claims, additions, and deletions.
  • Coordinate renewal and issuance of licenses and certificates required for business operations.
  • Handle visa and work permit processes for employees to support hiring and workforce readiness.
  • Hold delegated authority (e.g., Power of Attorney) to sign NDAs, contracts, and other legal documents after appropriate reviews and approvals.
  • Liaise with legal teams for contract compliance and perform in-person signatures at client or government offices as required.
  • Represent the company during official government visits and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Strong knowledge of local labor laws, visa/work permit regulations and government systems.
  • Regulatory compliance expertise and ability to interpret and apply statutory requirements.
  • Government liaison skills to build and maintain relationships with authorities and regulatory bodies.
  • Process management and attention to detail for handling complex documentation workflows.
  • Risk awareness and ability to identify compliance gaps and implement preventive measures.
  • Cultural and political awareness to navigate local business practices effectively.
  • Technology proficiency with government portals and digital compliance platforms.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, HR team, Leadership, and external partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Academic qualifications and certifications:
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Human Resources or related field.

Required experience:
  • Demonstrated experience gained within government relations or similar roles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing government portals and regulatory processes.
  • Exposure to multinational or large-scale organizations preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience to handle legal documentation and delegated authority.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with HR, Legal, and Finance teams and external government agencies
