Job Description
The selected candidate will assume territorial responsibility in the Washington DC/Baltimore, Central PA, Delaware and Northern Virginia area. Selected candidate will reside in the DC/Baltimore area.
The Role:
Commercial District Managers have territorial responsibility for the administration of the Business Elite and Medium Duty Program Agreements that exist between GM and its dealers. You will act as a consultant to the dealers by working together with them on the development and implementation of their business plans. You will be working hand in hand with the dealers to ensure that our customers have the best customer experience, from the point of purchase through the life cycle of their vehicle(s). You will be involved in a variety of activities including implementation and development of marketing initiatives, customer retention, product displays, financial analysis, market analysis and training.
What You’ll Do:
Facilitating, coaching, and consulting with dealers to ensure monthly / yearly sales objectives are met as well as well as accomplishing other dealership goals
Manage dealer compliance of the Business Elite program
Oversee the Commercial Truck Club in your sales district to grow membership and deliver value added content to members
Actively engage in driving Business Elite Dealer participation in the Business Elite Fleet solutions process thru training, coaching, and counseling dealerships
Improve OnStar Package Sales and OVI telematics sales across all stores
Implement commercial digital marketing and advertising campaigns
Improve commercial website presence and increase lead generating activities
Analyze dealer sales, local market conditions (Sales, registration data, dealer effectiveness, lost sales) and competition to identify specific sales opportunities.
Identify B2B related marketing opportunities that could lead to increased sales and service retention
Conduct sales and training activities including face-to-face customer meetings monthly
Assist dealers’ Commercial Sales Managers in executing local B2B tactics outlined in the dealer’s Business Elite business plan
Provide support in implementing regional and local B2B sales tactics (e.g. Targeted Association Activities, NAHB Events, ABC & AGC, etc.)
Conduct dealership management meetings
Knowledge of commercial Special Vehicle Manufacture upfit product
Knowledge of all GM products, services, customer demographics or profiles, and competitive automotive makes and models
Work cooperatively with retail teams on dealership growth plans that include Commercial vehicle sales and service
Communicate competitive intelligence
Administer GM policies and procedures
Assist in dealer and customer problem resolution
Coach dealer on customer retention, satisfaction, and dealership loyalty
Regularly travel to all dealerships in the assigned territory
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
4+ years demonstrated success in a field-base sales and customer service
Position involves overnight travel as necessary to fulfill responsibilities of territory management
Skilled in the use of the entire Microsoft suite of business products
Computer skills to develop, maintain, and analyze data
Valid driver’s license
