Building on a rich history of technical excellence, you will lead the transformation toward state-of-the-art solutions that power the future of ultrasonic testing and beyond.

As a key member of the UT global leadership team, you will influence strategy and execution across regions while driving innovation, global standardization, and digital transformation. This role combines technical authority with visionary leadership to shape technology that supports next-generation products and services, positioning the business for long-term success while honouring its heritage of quality and reliability.

Who UT Is and Who We Serve

UT (Ultrasonic Testing) is a precision technology that uses high-frequency sound waves to detect flaws, measure thickness, and validate integrity without damaging components. We serve customers in energy, aerospace, automotive, and industrial manufacturing, helping them prevent failures, comply with global standards, and optimize productivity.

Our mission: Safety, Productivity, and Ease-of-Use—delivering reliable, user-friendly solutions that keep industries safe and efficient while simplifying operations through advanced engineering and digital innovation.

As a Global Ultrasound Hardware Engineering Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Defining and executing the global hardware engineering strategy and platform to align with business objectives, while overseeing projects from concept through delivery and fostering lean, collaborative ways of working across global and local teams.

  • Serving as the technical authority for global mechanical, electrical, and automation hardware standards, ensuring adherence to CE, UL, and ISO requirements, and driving robust validation methods and best‑practice adoption.

  • Leading innovation and digital transformation by championing AI‑driven tools for CAD automation, BOM validation, and risk analysis, and embedding lessons learned into global libraries and standards.

  • Managing budgets, optimizing resource allocation, and supporting bid approvals and feasibility assessments to ensure sound business decisions.

  • Monitoring and improving performance through KPIs such as standards compliance, reuse rates, and first‑pass yield, acting on deviations and driving systemic, continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Hiring, developing, and retaining top engineering talent, mentoring local leaders, and cultivating a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance.

  • Acting as the global interface for engineering standards and knowledge sharing, partnering closely with software, application, and project leaders to deliver integrated, end‑to‑end solutions.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Bring experience leading global engineering organizations across regions such as Germany, China, India, and the USA.

  • Have a background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Non‑Destructive Testing Application Engineering.

  • Demonstrate a proven track record in engineering transformation, including building global standards, processes, and engineering repositories.

  • Bring familiarity with NDT environments, which will be considered a significant advantage.

  • Exhibit strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management capabilities.

  • Show the ability to drive innovation and digital adoption within complex engineering ecosystems.
