A role in Global Logistics, Inventory Allocation and Replenishment means you’ll focus on the efficient transportation of product around the world. Here, you’ll be challenged to pivot seamlessly from sales operations and planning, to ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, to achieving the best possible product availability through proper inventory positioning. You’ll establish and develop great relationships with our vendors to encourage on-time shipment and delivery to stores and ultimately, guests. And you’ll analyze transportation supplier capabilities and contracts for maximum speed, reliability and cost effectiveness.

Primary Function 

As Global Trade Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the movement of imported goods into Target's domestic supply chain network In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring the clearance status of import shipments arriving into U.S. ports of entry, collaborating with stakeholders and external parties to resolve exceptions, and communicating the impact of any delays to internal partners.  

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

-Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) by leveraging experience and demonstrating depth of knowledge about Customs brokerage, and a working understanding of partner team operations related to international logistics and import drayage and deconsolidation.  

-Compile import shipment status information and effectively prioritize shipments that require escalation or support to meet Global Trade Brokerage KPIs. 

-Manage the transmission of Importer Security Filings, including processing reports to identify missing ISFs, requesting manual ISF uploads, and researching and reporting the root cause of late ISF transmissions.  

-Research and understand clearance exceptions and effectively communicate next steps to internal and external partners to facilitate resolution.  

-Build supportive relationships and routinely collaborate with internal partners to encourage collective problem-solving that puts the guest first and contributes to success at Target.  

-Stay current with the ever-changing and complex trade environment by continually developing industry knowledge of new policies and how they relate to Target’s import profile. 

-First point of contact for general issue resolutions. Partners with Senior Level team members on escalations.  

-Support the effectiveness of Global Trade Brokerage through measurement and tracking of KPIs and forecast accuracy. Challenge the status quo and identify new opportunities for measurement in service of continuous improvement.  

This position reports to the Director-Global Trade, and works closely with Global Trade Operations, Global Trade Compliance, Global Trade Systems, International First Mile, Domestic First Mile, Inventory Management, Finance, external customs brokers, import vendors, ocean carriers, and third-party logistics providers. 

Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience 

  • 2 years of industry experience in customs brokerage or international trade 

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks daily and weekly. 

  • Ability to maintain strong partnerships in a dynamic and occasionally stressful environment.  

  • Perform work with little to no direction and independently sets daily tasks and prioritization 

  • Operate independently in cross-functional and project work 

 

Desired Requirements 

  • U.S. Customs Brokers License 

  • Proficient at Excel, Word 

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
