POSITION SUMMARY 

Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking an enthusiastic and driven intern to join our Global Threat Emulation (GTE) team for the 2026 Summer Internship Program. This role offers an exciting opportunity for hands-on experience in cybersecurity and ethical hacking. The intern will work on various security assessments, contributing to the identification and mitigation of security threats while learning from experienced professionals in the field. 

The CISD summer internship program is designed to provide skills, knowledge, and hands-on work experience in the information security and privacy industry, supporting the personal growth of our interns as well as Sony business results.  

This 12‑week summer internship runs from June through August and offers flexibility to work either hybrid or fully remote.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist the GTE team in identifying, analyzing, and emulating cybersecurity threats to assess organizational resilience. 

  • Support Red Team assessments and penetration testing activities, including reconnaissance, vulnerability assessment, exploitation, and reporting. 

  • Help conduct research on emerging cyber threats and attack techniques to enhance team methodologies and capabilities. 

  • Help document findings and assist in creating detailed reports for internal teams, focusing on actionable recommendations to improve security. 

  • Help collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security objectives align with organizational goals. 

  • Honesty, trustworthiness, and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Current student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 

  • Strong interest in cybersecurity, with bonus consideration for participation in security-focused clubs or competitions such as CCDC, Capture the Flag (CTF), or other self-learning hacking platforms.  

  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including penetration testing, vulnerability analysis, and Red Teaming. 

  • Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Python, C++, C#, Go, Bash, etc. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong desire to learn and adapt to new challenges. 

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 

  • All candidates must be authorized to work in the USA. 

 

The target hourly rate for this internship is $24.00 per hour. The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime.
