The Role:

We are looking for our next Global Technical Developer.

This position is located in Lower Gwynedd, PA

Compensation:

The current salary for this role is $161,103.90. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

What You’ll Do:

  • The Global Technical Developer (GTD) acts as a principal reference for Roquette’s customers’ R&D and manufacturing staff in the US pharmaceutical industry. Customers are located mainly in the US. Some US customers have R&D or manufacturing sites outside the US in North America, Central America and South America, which will also be supported by the GTD. For select US customers with global activities, the GTD coordinates these global activities through teamwork with peers in other regions to facilitate communication and efficiency gain for these customers.
  • The GTD acts as an expert in pharmaceutical technology in general and in particular in the use of Roquette pharmaceutical excipients in their applications in pharmaceutical dosage forms. The GTD uses advanced formulation skills and relevant experience to support the development of new drug products, trouble shooting of pharmaceutical manufacturing with existing products, and the support of customer initiatives to harvest cost saving potential and life cycle management requirements.
  • The GTD uses long term, robust relationships with customers’ pharmaceutical R&D experts to present and explain new Roquette products and concepts for pharmaceutical manufacturing and new dosage form development.
  • The GTD publishes scientific data obtained in the Roquette application centers at pharmaceutical conferences as posters or oral presentations.
  • Inside Roquette, the GTD supports the development of new pharmaceutical excipients end-to-end, from ideation of new solutions, prototype testing in customer collaborations, development of sales collateral for training of sales colleagues to roll out activities.
  • The GTD is responsible for the training of peers, colleagues in sales and marketing, as well as training of business partners.
  • Domestic and international travel required up to 50% of the time.
  • Part-time remote work within area of intended employment is permissible.

What You’ll Need:

      Education:          

  • A Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field, plus 10 years of progressively responsible experience as a formulator or application specialist in the pharmaceutical industry.

      Experience:

The required experience must include the following:

  • 10 years of experience in the development of pharmaceutical dosage forms working in the laboratory and in collaboration with customer R&D staff.
  • 10 years of experience in cross-functional teams and with project leadership.
  • 10 years of experience coaching peers to transfer knowledge.

Any and all experience may be gained concurrently.

Applicant must also possess demonstrated knowledge* of the following:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of both the customer organization and internally.
  • Pharmaceutical equipment, processes, and formulation to support and solve customers` issues, support formulation development, and develop process improvements.
  • Advanced didactics to properly share knowledge and assertively deliver the desired information.
  • Ability to work with manufacturing clients from Central America, South America and North America.
