Global Supplier Development Manager (m/f/d)
Job Summary
The Global Supplier Development Manager is a pivotal driver of Jabil’s Supply Chain and Risk Mitigation strategy, leading supplier qualification, advancing supplier capabilities, and building high-impact strategic partnerships across a global supplier network. Acting as a key technical and strategic contributor, this role provides leadership in engineering and supplier collaboration to strengthen Jabil’s position as a preferred partner for customers worldwide.
Leading a high-performing regional team, you will shape and execute supplier development strategies that enhance performance, resilience, and quality. Success in this role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to proactively identify, develop, and implement forward-thinking supplier solutions aligned with global and divisional commodity strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier & Commodity Strategy Development
Develop, define, and execute global supplier development and qualification strategies in close collaboration with Global and Divisional Commodity Management (GCM/DCM), Strategy Sourcing Managers (SSM) and Global Quality.
Drive supplier capability enhancement to support cost, quality, scalability, and technology roadmap objectives.
Identify early‑adopter opportunities with strategic suppliers for emerging technologies and new product offerings.
Leadership & Strategic Competency Development
Lead and coordinate regional teams across multiple geographies, ensuring alignment with global commodity and supplier strategies.
Provide regional leadership and direction to engineering, supplier quality, and sourcing teams within a matrix organization.
Coach, mentor, and develop regional teams to strengthen technical competencies, supplier capability, and execution excellence.
Provide technical leadership across assigned commodities, acting as a recognized subject‑matter expert.
Develop and deliver clear value propositions and technical solution proposals to internal and external stakeholders.
Design, deploy, and lead engineering workshops, trainings, and seminars to strengthen Jabil’s internal capabilities and supplier alignment.
Technology Roadmap & Innovation
Partner with Jabil’s global sites and cross-functional teams to strengthen strategic supplier relationships, define technical requirements, and shape future-state capabilities.
Lead key technical reviews, presentations, and strategic discussions to align technology roadmaps across stakeholders.
Translate customer and market requirements into actionable supplier development initiatives.
Customer & External Stakeholder Engagement
Lead and influence technical engagement with customers, promoting the adoption of Jabil’s Interconnect and supplier development strategies.
Act as the primary technical interface for commodity‑related discussions with customers and strategic partners.
Demonstrate and articulate Jabil’s technical competencies and supplier ecosystem strength to external stakeholders.
Knowledge and Skills
Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate complex technical, scientific, financial, and operational information.
Solid understanding of global and regional logistics, supplier operations, and manufacturing ecosystems.
Strong financial and analytical skills, with experience using business analytics to optimize supply chain footprints.
Proven track record in change management, continuous improvement, and cost‑reduction initiatives.
Ability to mentor, coach, and develop technical and supplier‑facing teams to strengthen organizational and supplier capabilities.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present effectively senior leadership, customers, and external partners.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and standard business systems.
Education and Experience
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in commodity management, supplier development, engineering, or manufacturing environments.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline (required).
Demonstrated experience leading cross‑functional, global teams across supplier development, engineering, supply chain, and sourcing.
Auditing experience, including certification or hands‑on experience as an ISO 9001 Auditor or experience with IATF 16949 is preferred.
Solid background in supply chain and commodity management, ideally within a global or regional manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated experience in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation across supplier and supply chain operations.
Strong project management experience, with a track record of leading cross‑regional initiatives, managing timelines, risks, and stakeholders.
Demonstrated success in technical engagement with customers and strategic suppliers across global environments.
