The Boeing Company is seeking an engineering Senior Manager, Global Safety & Regulatory Affairs covering the North America, Central America, and Latin America regions. Primary focus of the role is leading resolution of Boeing and industry-level regulatory issues alongside Washington DC-based Boeing and external stakeholders. The position is based in Boeing's Arlington, VA office, is embedded with the Boeing Government Operations organization.

The position represents the Chief Aerospace Safety Office and the Safety, Security and Airworthiness (SS&A) organization, and reports directly to the Director of Global Regulatory Affairs.

A top priority of the role is to represent enterprise engineering interests on regulatory, policy, and safety issues to governments and aviation regulatory organizations in the region. The position is responsible for formulating and executing key regulatory engagement strategies to meet Boeing’s business goals and objectives. It collaborates closely with leadership teams in ET&T Safety, Security & Airworthiness, BCA and BGS Engineering, Boeing Government Operations, Boeing Global, and multiple external industry regulatory bodies such as FAA, GAMA, and AIA.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Lead a small team of direct reports in Washington DC, and across the region
  • Lead multiple internal organizations indirectly through collaboration
  • Develop and foster relationships with Washington DC-based FAA offices, select officials at TCCA Canada and ANAC Brazil, and regional aviation regulatory associations.
  • Provide insight on regulatory policies in the region. Actively promote understanding by Boeing business units, articulating both risk and opportunities to business goals
  • Serve as a focal point for regulatory & technical issue communications between regionally-based and Boeing-US-based organizations.
  • Participate in Boeing's global Regulatory Issues Management process
  • Lead and champion initiatives with the regulators and US aviation industry organizations that strategically serve to improve Boeing’s regulatory environment

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Arlington, VA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of experience in a management position with direct reports
  • Management experience in Boeing regulatory processes e.g. rulemaking, product certification & validation, safety management system
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport and travel internationally without restriction

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience working as a senior leader or senior manager.
  • 3+ years of experience building a safety and quality culture.
  • Experience in dynamic environments with customer and/or regulatory interactions.
