The Global Platforms Lead will be responsible to lead and manage the teams, consisting of internal and external resources that focus on development, delivery, and ongoing evolution of Products focused on external engagement catering to Commercial, Medical, Clinical Trial & Safety business lines at Pfizer, as well as managing delivery of services of HCP Capabilities such as GRV and GCP. This consists of integrated process & technology solutions that are either custom developed or purchased and configured commercial products. This position requires exceptional technical leadership to oversee a high-performing, cross-functional engineering team, ensuring architectural integrity, scalability, and delivery excellence across the OSS ecosystem.

This role will also champion the adoption and rollout of AI-driven technologies that enhance development efficiency and deliver next-generation digital experiences. The Global Platforms Lead will help integrate AI into core workflows to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and enable more personalized and intelligent user interactions across Pfizer’s digital ecosystem.

In addition to leadership responsibilities, the lead will also have responsibility for engaging and managing key stakeholder relationships, as related to services delivery across all areas of the Pfizer business lines, CMO, CMAO, Clinical, Safety and across peer Digital & Technology Leads as well as within the Business lines owning the overall accountability for the team. The lead directly and through the team engages with the clients in understanding the needs and then work to define solutions/deliverables to meet those needs whilst collaborating with internal resources, lead project teams in the development of high quality re-usable solutions. 

What You Will Achieve

  • Direct and lead a team of 8 direct colleagues, people managers and 200+ contractors supporting large programs, tactical implementations and change initiatives supporting the Digital Engagement functions and business processes.
  • Oversee delivery globally with a yearly volume ~ $10M+
  • Responsible for managing the services, product roadmaps and delivery based on global capabilities and platforms such as, GRV, GCP, PMI, Medwise, Pfizerpro Portal & Microsites, Corporate and Clinical/Safety
  • Oversee delivery globally of large globalization efforts in the areas of:
    • Commercial for HCP Capabilities (Pfizerpro Portal Microsites, GRV, GCP, etc)
    • External facing Digital Engagements for all Non-commercial BU – Medical, WRD, GPD, WWS
  • Lead and oversee Digital strategy and development of PfizerPro platform servicing over 1500 microsites globally.
  • Accountable for the Global service ownership of key service such as Global identity Maintenance (GRV, GPA, GCP, Mobile Apps delivery, Corporate Template. Holds team accountable for the service definition, documentation and management of these key areas. 
  • Act as primary point of contact for all Non-Commercial Business areas for external Digital engagement needs, to ensure the solution center is fully engaged in all digital projects and initiatives. 
  • Rollout immersive experiences as part of Medical and PfizerPro content strategy utilizing.
  • Provide thought and technical leadership for next generation experiences utilizing AI and Immersive technologies.
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to accelerate delivery through AI-assisted development tools, testing automation, and intelligent content generation.
  • Manage and grow the relationship with key colleagues in the HCP and non-commercial space including the CMO, Clinical tower, and the CMAO.
  • Responsible for the definition and management of the technology strategy and roadmaps for the products in scope.  Being accountable for the delivery of digital assets using these services as well as the support and maintenance of the services.
  • Provide technical leadership to a cross-functional engineering team, ensuring architectural integrity, scalability, and delivery excellence across OSS platforms.
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent, building a high-performing team capable of delivering next-generation digital experiences at scale.

Other responsibilities

  • Champion a culture of innovation by fostering awareness, training, and adoption of AI-first ways of working across teams.
  • Responsible to effectively manage IT and business stakeholders in the financing, delivery and value realization of projects and change initiatives within the regional portfolio or work.
  • Responsible for owning multiple vendor relationships within managed service and project/program delivery agreement structures.
  • Lead Change Authorization and Management / Maintain control of platform and application enhancements – responsible to understand the impact and value of proposed and executed application and systems changes, the approval process and the outcome.
  • Ensure technology solutions meet the needs of the Digital Engagement and Marketing business functions, while executing the full software lifecycle for COTS packages as well as custom developed solutions.
  • Follow appropriate processes for technology engineering, project management and application support for the full lifecycle of the portfolio.
  • Ensure solutions are engineered appropriately for usability, availability, accessibility and scalability.
  • Manage and contribute to a resource management plan that allocates team members to the portfolio of approved projects.
  • Maintain key metrics for quality, efficiency and productivity for the team's digital services delivery portfolio.
  • Implement improvement projects to drive quality, productivity and efficiency.
  • Own & manage the engagement with key stakeholders for their assigned portfolio
  • Work with external agency partners to deliver on web-based solutions supporting external engagements 
  • Develop, mentor and engage top talent in the team.
  • Direct staff with a clear articulation of vision, direction and expectations with the end customer always in mind.
  • Ensure alignment across the Digital organization and service providers – effectively utilizing the Digital organization
  • Escalation Management adhering to established SLAs. Promptly respond and resolve escalation requests from Business Partners. 
  • Continuous Improvement 
  • Initiates and implements improvements in all areas of IT responsibility.
  • Identifies and provides standards for gathering information for use in trend analysis and reports information to company management.
  • Maintain key metrics for quality, efficiency and productivity for application support. Implement improvement projects to drive quality, productivity and efficiency
  • Understands, effectively uses and may coach project and support teams on technical tools, applications, and procedures.
  • Effectively communicates technical aspects of the job to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Understands how group's activities fit with other groups and the entire product/service offerings.
  • Leverage existing solutions and global design to drive standardization
  • Ensures that standards of Quality Assurance (QA) are being met as part of ongoing services
  • Deep understanding of web based and mobile application technologies and concepts and/or business processes as applied to customer marketing.
  • Understand and negotiate with vendors on their project estimations as necessary. Engage vendors through RFP processes and follow allow Pfizer procurement processes as applicable

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of experience

  • Proven track record of using knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, related industries, customer requirements, and the general business environment to define strategic actions for a global business unit

  • Proven understanding of Digital Engagement and Marketing technology and business processes, Including but not limited to campaign, content, communication management.

  • Experience with a variety of web technologies 

  • Demonstrated capabilities managing large complex global programs consisting of capital and operating expenses and virtual teams

  • Strong people management experience

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish relationships, influence outcomes, and deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences

  • Experience in managing application support and maintenance, change management, configuration management, problem management, incident management, and lifecycle management

  • Strong knowledge of web-based marketing & 2.0 concepts as applicable to Customer marketing,

  • Master's degree with proven progressive experience as an Information Technology professional

  • Experience in financial stewardship for budgets and resources allocated to application support and management

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop solutions to complex or unique problems

  • Experience in fostering an environment of continuous improvement and innovation in daily operations

  • Ability to manage talent and leadership development, participate in succession planning, and prepare for long-term development needs

  • Strong leadership skills to hold senior managers accountable for skill development and diversity

  • Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity. Demonstrated curiosity for exploring how these tools can improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
