The Global Platforms Lead is responsible for serving as the global business owner for Pfizer’s BlackLine, MyJournals, ARIS and SDD Portal platforms, which are critical components of the Controllers Global Accounting and Pfizer Finance ecosystem. This role leads Finance-wide initiatives related to journal entry governance, account reconciliations, transaction matching, webforms, analytics, and controls and processes enabled by these systems. The Global Platforms Lead will lead and mobilize teams to support the implementation, governance, and operationalization of these systems across the Pfizer Finance, ensuring alignment with accounting policy, internal controls, and global objectives.

What You Will Achieve

The Global Platforms Lead will manage a team of colleagues responsible for platform governance, administration, and subject matter expertise, working closely with the team to address opportunities, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement. Key business partners include Controllers, Risk Management & Compliance, Corporate Audit, Digital, Enterprise Systems CORE Services, External Service Providers, and External Auditors. The Global Platforms Lead will report to and work closely with the Sr. Director - Global Close Lead to resolve and escalate issues and ensure consistent, compliant, and efficient use of global platforms.  The Global Platforms Lead will also partner with the Controllers Global Accounting Global Process Owner and the Controllers Global Accounting Technology Lead to implement initiatives based on their strategic direction.  The position emphasizes continuous improvement, experimentation, efficiency gains, and insights.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and oversee global platform initiatives, including governance, design, deployment, performance measurement, and reporting, ensuring alignment with best-in-class close, journal, and reconciliation practices.
  • Monitor and optimize platform performance and adoption by benchmarking, analyzing business reporting, and implementing enhancements to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Drive platform transformation by anticipating business, functional, and control requirements, addressing root causes of issues, and developing and tracking improvement metrics.
  • Engage with key stakeholders—including Controllers, Corporate Audit, Digital, and external vendors—to manage relationships, ensure compliance, and support successful platform governance and operations.
  • Lead and manage large, cross-functional initiatives and teams, set clear priorities, oversee resource allocation, and provide subject matter expertise on financial systems and processes.
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor team members, fostering growth through challenging assignments, regular feedback, and development planning.
  • Identify and eliminate low-value activities, improve platform effectiveness with fewer resources, and champion innovation by implementing new ideas and processes.
  • Partner with Global Accounting leadership and technology leads to ensure consistency, alignment with internal controls, compliance, and the strategic direction of platform changes.
  • Communicate business priorities and changes effectively, influence decisions at senior levels, and contribute to organizational knowledge sharing and talent development.

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements): 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in applicable discipline
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Practical experience of US GAAP and Statutory Accounting / experience of other GAAPs
  • Significant knowledge of and experience with Controllers Global Accounting processes and systems (including but not limited to S4 Hana, MyJournals, Cadency, A.R.I.S (Celonis/Service Now) and SDD Portal)
  • CPA or international equivalent (ACCA)
  • English proficiency
  • Management and supervisory experience
  • Experience leading and implementing large global initiatives
  • SAP & FCCS Experience

  • Comprehensive industry knowledge and understanding of business processes to proactively identify needs and mobilize resources.
  • Ability to take an enterprise-wide perspective and solve complex problems across multiple areas of expertise.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $158,800.00 to $264,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
