Role Summary

As a Global Payments Strategist at Payoneer, you will play a critical role in supporting the company’s global licensing strategy, regulatory initiatives, and product expansion by ensuring that end-to-end fund movements are accurately documented, regulator-ready, and aligned with evolving compliance requirements. You will act as a strategic partner across Product, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, and Operations, maintaining a centralized view of how funds move across licensed entities, products, banking partners, and payment corridors.

This role owns the documentation and ongoing maintenance of Payoneer’s global funds flow framework, including safeguarding models, legal ownership of funds, and intercompany settlement structures. You will support licensing activities, regulatory reviews, audits, and banking partner due diligence by delivering clear, consistent, and defensible documentation across a highly dynamic and global payments ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze, document, and maintain end-to-end funds flows across licensed entities, products, and banking partners using clear process diagrams and supporting narratives.
  • Clearly articulate legal ownership of funds, applicable safeguarding or client money treatment, responsible regulated entities, and key risk and control points throughout the payment lifecycle.
  • Support new license applications, regulatory change notifications, supervisory reviews, audits, and banking partner due diligence requests with regulator-ready documentation.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, and Operations teams to assess and document new products, payment rails, and enhancements to existing flows.
  • Document and support intercompany funding, settlement, and liquidity structures, ensuring alignment with contractual arrangements and regulatory expectations.
  • Contribute to board-level, audit, regulatory, and banking partner materials by preparing structured and comprehensive funds flow documentation.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on funds flow design and documentation, bringing a strong regulatory, operational risk, and audit-focused mindset.
  • Maintain and continuously improve Payoneer’s global funds flow framework as products, corridors, banking partners, and regulatory requirements evolve.
  • Support initiatives related to emerging payment models, including stablecoin-based settlement and funding structures.
  • Drive consistency, governance, and quality standards across all funds flow documentation and related processes.

Who You Are

  • You have 5+ years of experience in payments, fintech, banking, or another regulated financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end funds flows, safeguarding and/or client money concepts, and complex cross-border payment services.
  • Proven ability to translate complex operational and technical processes into clear written and visual documentation suitable for regulators, auditors, and banking partners.
  • Experience supporting licensing activities, regulatory change initiatives, supervisory reviews, or audits within regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as EMI, AFSL, MAS, PSD2, or similar global financial regulations is highly preferred.
  • Highly detail-oriented and structured, with the ability to manage complex projects independently and operate effectively in high-accountability environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies.
  • Comfortable navigating evolving regulatory landscapes and fast-paced global payments environments.
