ROLE OVERVIEW
The Global Mobility Associate is critical in supporting MSF USA’s global workforce strategy by delivering operational and compliance-based services related to immigration, visa sponsorship, and global mobility offerings. This position provides direct support to staff and internal stakeholders across MSF USA, helping to ensure that visa-related processes and global assignments are executed accurately, equitably, and in alignment with organizational policy, U.S. labor law, and broader MSF movement standards.
This Associate will serve as a point of contact for visa queries, supporting both case-level actions and systemic process improvements. Collaborating with hiring managers, employees, legal partners, and P&C colleagues will help ensure compliance with federal regulations, enhance staff mobility experiences, and contribute to global coordination efforts across the MSF movement.
This role requires a service-oriented mindset, strong organizational and analytical capabilities, and the ability to navigate complex immigration and employment matters with sensitivity and professionalism. The Global Mobility Associate reports to the Global Mobility Manager and works closely with colleagues across People Operations, People Experience, and international counterparts.

Payroll Administration
Carry out the payroll administration processes required to ensure that employees are paid correctly at the right time.
ROLES SPECIFIC OUTCOMES
• Providing accurate, timely, and responsive support to staff and managers on immigration and global mobility inquiries.
• Maintaining immigration, policy and procedure compliance records and supporting audit readiness for visa-holding staff in coordination with internal systems and legal partners.
• Executing mobility-related communications, tools, and supporting process improvements for staff and managers.
• Supporting cross-entity coordination related to international mobile staff in alignment with MSF movement guidelines

The Global Mobility Associate must:
• Understand and support multiple mobility scenarios across HQ staff, hosted staff, and international mobile staff, each with distinct sponsorship or visa-related implications.

• Support the Global Mobility Manager in navigating a highly regulated, fast-changing U.S. immigration landscape, ensuring that MSF USA remains compliant while supporting talent needs.

• Balance case-specific support with strategic process improvements, particularly in creating scalable templates, documentation, and manager-facing resources.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• 2–4 years of experience in immigration services, HR operations, or global mobility support—preferably within a nonprofit or international context.
• Familiarity with immigration compliance requirements, public access files, and audit preparedness.
• Experience supporting international staff or secondments, including mobility planning and cross-border coordination.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate legal concepts into clear guidance for non-specialist audiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working with HRIS platforms, case management systems, and digital documentation tools.
• Working knowledge of U.S. visa types (e.g., H-1B, J-1, O-1, TN) and employment-based sponsorship processes a plus
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position may require occasional domestic travel to participate in People & Culture team retreats, organizational convenings, and/or professional development conferences. All travel will be planned and aligned with team priorities, budget, and organizational health and safety protocols.
COMPENSATION
$67,350 to $101,025 - In alignment with MSF USA’s compensation framework, new hires are offered between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on relevant experience, skills, and internal equity.
