The Global Medical Director is an integral member of the Velsipity medical affairs team and Gastroenterology community. The Global Medical Director, Gastroenterology will serve as an expert in the IBD field and leading the execution of evidence and insight generation, interpretation and dissemination activities for the safe and effective use of Velsipity.
WHAT YOU WILL ACHIEVE
The Global Medical Director, Gastroenterology will lead with integrity, and be a role model for medical professionalism and scientific excellence serving as a key medical partner across the Global R&D, US and International divisions.
HOW YOU WILL ACHIEVE IT
Partner cross-functionally with medical teams, health and value functions, clinical development, legal, compliance and commercial teams to execute activities supporting Velsipity.
Support Velsipity launch activities.
Collaborate directly with country medical teams to understand major unmet medical needs and medical environment including HCP and patient perspective, regulatory and access dynamics at the country level and integrate needs and insights to co-create a global Velsipity medical plan.
Demonstrate deep data and disease area expertise for Velsipity and gastroenterology, respectively.
Support or lead evidence generation, data interpretation, and data dissemination, communication and publication activities informed by medical and scientific community information and education needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must-Have
Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with at least 8+ years of experience.
Cross functional effectiveness.
Leading effectively in a matrix.
A minimum of three years industry experience preferred.
Experience in Medical Affairs required.
Nice-to-Have
Master's degree with at least 7+ years of experience; OR a PhD with 5+ years of experience.
Subject matter expertise and experience in specific therapeutic area (Gastroenterology), especially clinical / patient care experience.
Launch experience a plus.
International experience a plus.
Regulatory and/or clinical development experience a plus.
