JOB TITLE: Global Inventory Process Leader
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Process Leader to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with our business units to optimize and streamline our inventory management processes, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations in both make-to-order and make-to-stock environments. You will analyze current practices, identify areas for improvement, and implement innovative solutions to enhance inventory visibility, accuracy, and control.
Work Location: This role requires a hybrid onsite work presence within one of the following locations and is not eligible for relocation nor sponsorship:
- Glen Mills, PA
- Mt. Clemens, MI
- Troy, MI
- Houston, TX
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of #3 inventory specialists to ensure efficient and effective inventory management processes.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders and key stakeholders to understand their unique inventory management needs and challenges.
- Conduct comprehensive audits of existing inventory management systems and processes across the organization.
- Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement in inventory tracking, storage, and distribution across different production models.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory accuracy, reduce stock-outs, and minimize excess inventory.
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate inventory data with other business systems.
- Implement and maintain effective inventory control measures, such as cycle counting, ABC analysis, and just-in-time (JIT) principles, tailored to the specific needs of each business.
- Analyze inventory data and generate reports to form decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact inventory management in diverse production settings.
- Utilize expertise in SAP to develop inventory management and reporting best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field. APICS certification preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in inventory management, with a proven track record in both make-to-order and make-to-stock environments.
- Leadership background required.
- Demonstrated success implementing inventory optimization strategies and achieving measurable improvements in diverse production settings.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions for make-to-order and make-to-stock challenges.
- Strong project management and change management skills, with the ability to adapt to different production models.
- Proficient using inventory management software, data analysis tools, and reporting systems.
- Experience with SAP S4Hana/SAP IBP/SAP Inventory Optimizer is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and lead a team of inventory specialists.
- Adaptable to changing business needs and able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Travel required: approx. 25% (primarily domestic).
