We are looking for a Global Indirect Category Manager (Marketing and HR Services).
What will you do?
In this role, the person is responsible for maximizing procurement leverage across the entire global portfolio of Johnson Controls' product businesses, service business, and functions.
Also, this person will support the corporate services categories, as needed and as assigned by the manager.
This role is within the Indirect Procurement Professional Services group.
How will you do it?
Develop and lead implementation of global category procurement strategies for assigned Indirect Procurement Corporate Services categories.
Lead both traditional and non-traditional supplier procurement activities, ensuring timely execution and focusing upon global and regional solutions which improve services and reduce costs.
Facilitate supplier procurement process and negotiations relative to business requirements and cost, maximizing Johnson Controls' leverage and negotiation position.
Lead supplier contracting negotiations and execution, collaborating with Corporate Legal for escalation of certain risk-related terms and conditions.
Identify, develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders including JCI Sr. Executives and regional/local procurement teams to increase engagement and develop a robust procurement project pipeline.
For each procurement project, ensure project alignment and drive collaborative procurement efforts with the necessary cross-functional counterparts and matrix teams (e.g. IT, Risk Management, HR, Compliance, Legal, Regional/Local Procurement Teams etc.) to maximize transactional efficiency and mitigate potential risks.
Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with key suppliers to understand the suppliers' current services for the company as well as additional capabilities.
Gain a comprehensive understanding of business and functional strategic roadmaps and resulting business requirements, as related to assigned categories.
Drive cost-out targets for the supply management organization; calculate and report savings.
Drive compliance of enterprise agreements.
Assist with key supplier issue resolution and risk mitigation, as required.
Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of marketplace, benchmarks, and industry best practices for assigned categories.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) is required.
Advanced degree in business and/or legal is highly desirable.
5+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Strong relationship management skills and a demonstrated ability to influence without authority.
Operational and/or procurement experience with Corporate Services Categories; HR Services and Marketing experience is strongly preferred.
Significant contracting experience (negotiation, implementation, management of agreements) is required.
Extensive project management experience with the ability to identify and implement demand management opportunities and/or PMP certification is preferred.
Strong understanding of business processes, capital expenditures, financial budgeting, and key financial indicators (i.e., ROI, IRR, NPV).
Prior experience with procurement digitization efforts and the use of AI is preferred.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally a few times a year for 1-2 weeks at a time.
MBA or other graduate-level degree preferred.
