Job Description Summary

This executive position reports to the Chief Procurement Officer and leads a Global Electronics and High Tech Sourcing team of 30+ people across $900M in spend and 500+ suppliers.

Job Description

  • Developing strategic supplier relationships that are consistent with the company’s vision and long-term objectives.  Ensuring 3-5 year plans are in place, and communicated to internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrating deep understanding of markets for categories managed, including key players, appropriate indices, trends, etc.
  • Supporting new program launches as subject matter experts
  • Partnering with the program purchasing team to lead contract/price negotiations with suppliers to meet quality, quantity, cost, lead time and delivery requirements, and to ensure best overall value for the business
  • Ensuring procurement and contract management procedures and policies are aligned across all divisions and that they are maintained and consistent with the company’s priorities. Implementing formal supply agreements with key suppliers with the help of the legal group
  • Partnering with Supplier Development to ensure chosen partners have the capability to deliver on the business requirements.
  • Supporting Supplier Quality, ensuring supplier compliance with FDA, EHS, transportation and other regulatory and reputation requirements
  • Leading regular 360 Degree and Strategy Business Reviews with strategic suppliers
  • Extracting innovation and continuous improvement from the supply base from onboarding through end of service
  • Leading and participating in multi-functional teams for design improvements, cost reduction opportunities, value engineering, supplier consolidation, and other strategies for operational and supply chain improvements
  • Driving product costs down by 5%+ year over year through supplier negotiation and design change ideas, partnering with engineering and manufacturing, with a total cost of ownership mindset
  • Managing risk in the supply base proactively, from identifying the risk to executing the mitigation plan, in partnership with the extended business team

 

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Deep category and domain knowledge in Electronics
  • Ability to manage global, remote and virtual teams
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate at an executive level internally, and with supply base
  • BA/BS from accredited college or university
  • 15+ years of Sourcing experience, with 5+ leading large teams

It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
