Purpose of the Role

As Global Head of Business Development, you will play a pivotal senior leadership role within the Global Growth team and sit on the Global Carat leadership team. You will lead from the front—driving a high-performance growth culture, shaping winning strategies, and enabling teams across markets to deliver exceptional results.

This role is central to accelerating both new business and organic growth, building differentiated, scalable capabilities, and embedding a world-class pitch approach across the organisation. You will be a recognised sales leader, navigating complexity with confidence and influencing at the highest levels to deliver meaningful commercial impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and scale pitch-winning capabilities in partnership with regional Growth leaders, embedding best-in-class sales methodologies globally

  • Design and implement the packaging, communication and rollout of growth capabilities across markets

  • Ensure consistent adoption of tools, frameworks and approaches across all pitch teams

  • Lead and support high-value global pitches, shaping strategy, storytelling and engagement models to deliver exceptional outcomes

  • Drive revenue growth targets, across both net new business and organic opportunities

  • Lead and coordinate multi-market pitch teams, ensuring alignment and excellence in delivery

  • Partner with senior stakeholders (CCOs, brand leaders, ICLs) to secure client retention and unlock growth within existing accounts

  • Strengthen and optimise the global sales pipeline, improving forecasting accuracy, conversion rates and speed to close

  • Leverage data, insights and market intelligence to enhance competitiveness, differentiation, and strategic focus

  • Champion and scale key products and solutions (e.g. Principle, Dynamo), embedding them into both new business and client growth strategies

Qualifications + Skills

  • Extensive experience within the media industry, with broad cross-category and functional expertise

  • Proven track record of driving growth and winning business within complex, global organisations

  • Strong strategic capability to develop and execute sales strategies aligned to business priorities

  • Deep expertise in end-to-end sales processes, including acquisition, pipeline management and client growth

  • Demonstrated ability to operate at C-suite level, with strong presence, influence, and stakeholder management skills

  • Highly analytical, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and identify growth opportunities

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complexity and make high-impact decisions

  • Strong leadership capability, with a track record of inspiring, developing and aligning high-performing global teams

  • Highly organised and resourceful, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver at pace

  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate a compelling vision and influence senior stakeholders
