Job Description:

We are looking for a Finance Specialist to support the accounting and controllership requirements of a newly established entity in Singapore. This role is hands-on and operational, with exposure to financial reporting, payment processing, controls, and audit support.

You will work closely with regional and global stakeholders, including finance teams, business units, and external auditors, in a dynamic multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities

Controllership & Accounting Operations

  • Maintain accurate general ledger records in compliance with IFRS and/or US GAAP
  • Perform day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances

Payment Processing & Cash Management

  • Process vendor payments and employee reimbursements accurately and on time
  • Maintain accounts payable records, including vendor master data and payment schedules
  • Perform bank reconciliations and support cash balance monitoring

Financial Reporting

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities
  • Prepare supporting schedules for management reporting and statutory requirements
  • Assist with documentation for internal and external audits

Controls, Compliance & Audit Support

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, finance policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and respond to audit queries
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams such as Procurement, HR, and Business Units to resolve finance-related matters
  • Liaise with external parties including banks, auditors, and vendors as required

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in accounting, controllership, or finance operations
  • Experience in insurance, asset management, financial institutions, or shared services is an advantage
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger, accounts payable, and payment processing
  • Familiarity with IFRS and/or US GAAP
  • Experience using ERP or accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Concur)
  • Proven experience working with internal and external auditors

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • CPA or equivalent professional qualification
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Digital mindset with exposure to process improvement or automation initiatives
  • Experience in a multinational environment; familiarity with Singapore regulatory requirements is a plus
