Blackstone is seeking an experienced leader to fill the role of Senior Vice President, responsible for driving accounting and operations engineering/technology initiatives for the Blackstone Credit and Insurance (BXCI) business. This individual will spearhead the design, development, implementation, and management of innovative technology systems that enhance accounting and operations processes. The SVP will liaise with key stakeholders to build scalable solutions, integrate cutting-edge tools, and advance streamlined processes for credit and insurance investment operations. This strategic role focuses on leveraging technology to optimize workflows while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and deployment of next-generation accounting and operations engineering technologies to support BXCI’s accounting, middle-office, and finance operations.

  • Oversee end-to-end engineering and technology strategies for BXCI’s operations, with an emphasis on integrating accounting and operations systems into a cohesive data warehousing, analytics, and reporting framework.

  • Drive the team’s adoption of robust solutions, including credit IBOR/ABOR systems like Geneva or similar platforms.

  • Manage the curation and transformation of operational and accounting datasets into formats ready for flexible reporting and actionable insights.

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines and warehouse ecosystems to support financial analysis and decision-making.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the firm, including portfolio operations, risk, finance, and data governance, to ensure systems and tools align with BXCI business needs.

  • Build reporting infrastructure to ensure accurate financial and operational metrics are propagated to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of engineers and operational technology specialists.

  • Define and implement best practices for operational systems performance, reusability, consistency, and data accuracy.

  • Own and manage existing and legacy operational systems to be modernized, and field a team and practice responsive to daily trading, compliance and finance needs.

Technical Expertise and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical domain.

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering or technology operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or management role.

  • 5-10 years of experience working on accounting and finance operations technology, ideally for Credit and Insurance investment firms.

  • Proficiency with credit IBOR/ABOR systems like Geneva or similar tools is highly preferred.

  • Deep expertise in data curation methodologies, data integration, and designing cohesive analytics platforms from operational and accounting systems.

  • Strong leadership capabilities, including experience managing teams, making hiring decisions, and fostering a collaborative work culture.

  • Experience with cloud-based systems like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Snowflake, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Sigma.

  • Familiarity with big data techniques and advanced database architecture design.
