Position Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Group Property function to be part of the Energy and Sustainability Services team. We are looking for an Energy Projects Development Manager to lead early-stage development of Energy efficiency and Scope 1 and 2 decarbonisation projects through from strategic roadmap to technical/financial feasibility and support through business case approval and project delivery.
What you will be doing:
- Lead project teams and technical experts through the development of energy efficiency and decarbonisation projects from Gate 0 through to transition to the delivery team
- Ensure utilisation of the agreed Project Management toolset to progress projects to handover to the project delivery team
- Review and buy-off (through appropriate SME's) of technical and commercial proposals and supporting documentation
- Identify and ensure availability of necessary project delivery resources to support the delivery schedule
- Monitor and control of project progress in alignment with committed milestones and wider reporting requirements and stakeholder expectations
- Keeping abreast of and tracking technologies and commercial innovations to capture opportunities to develop innovative solutions to meet group energy commitments
- Identification of new energy project opportunities
- Options appraisal and technology selection
- Consultation and collaboration with procurement & legal functions and contractors to advance projects
- Preparation of project approval documentation for Investment committees
- Influencing and management of key internal and external project/programme stakeholders.
Position Qualifications:
- Has Company-wide outlook and exposure to different challenges, cultures, and ways of working
- A degree, post graduate diploma or equivalent in a related subject
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate all levels both within the client organisation and externally
- IT skills including MS project, Excel, and Power BI
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience managing a variety of technically and commercially complex projects
- Energy management, sustainability and/or building services experience within an industrial environment
- Experience in energy/infrastructure contract arrangements and/or project management in an industrial environment
- Able to contribute to strategic planning
- Experience of dealing at high level within business organisations
- Experience with capital approval processes and managing the necessary stakeholder expectations
