Role Summary:
The Director, Manufacturing Operations is a responsible for the safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance of manufacturing sites aligned to their business unit. This role drives a culture of continuous improvement — identifying, implementing, and scaling best practices that strengthen manufacturing execution and deliver measurable results across the regional portfolio.
Working in close collaboration with plant leaders, functional peers, and senior business leaders globally, the Director translates enterprise priorities into regional manufacturing strategies, removes barriers to production performance, and builds the operational capability needed to sustain excellence and support Flowserve’s growth agenda.
Key Responsibilities:
•Enable project execution in their respective scope, work across sites to drive improvements in operational performance and key metrics including safety, quality, delivery, cost and culture.
•Align area key performance metrics with overall platform goals; organize resources to deliver on these metrics.
•Own the change management to enhance business processes for the sites within region, including lead time strategy to meet market requirements, aligned with the initiatives and plans from the corporate operations excellence team.
•Work with sites to develop and manage the action plan to achieve these goals.
•Lead and develop strategic initiatives and plans as they relate to operating model deployment, product rationalization, re-alignment, both regionally and globally.
•Identify best practices to be implemented across sites within region and / or globally.
•Collaborate with peers to improve overall operational performance of the business, through best practice sharing, standardization and change management across region.
•Prioritize actions that will deliver best return to the business while ensuring process stability post implementation.
•Maintain a good technical knowledge of operations; follow the escalation process to resolve, address and respond to abnormalities and recommend corrective action as required.
•Coach and develop Plant Managers and Manufacturing Leadership to improve the overall operations performance in the business.
Qualifications & Experience
•10+ years of leadership across operations, including multi-site responsibility
•Experience of precision machining, assembly and testing of large, mechanical equipment for a regulated industry (API, ASME, ISO).
•Experience in CNC machining of castings and forgings, precision assembly, NDT, welding, pressure testing, factory testing, and management of large equipment is preferred.
•Proven track record of identifying and improving critical KPIs.
•Ability to implement Lean manufacturing practices leading to measurable improvement in operational performance.
•Prior experience making positive changes in manufacturing or operations processes and work culture.
•Must have excellent leadership, management, communication and customer and vendor interface skills.
•Experience developing and managing budgets and schedules, Cap Ex plans and organization planning and development.
•Proficient in widely used business software, CAD, and engineering systems, ERP/MRP systems.
•BS or BA Degree in relevant field
