Position Overview:
You will lead and oversee global general ledger accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls across the organization. In this role, you partner closely with business, operational, and systems teams to support compliant accounting for ongoing operations, business changes, and strategic initiatives. You are accountable for owning balance sheet integrity, global accounting processes, and the financial close, while developing and guiding a distributed accounting team. This role is a compelling opportunity because it provides enterprise-wide scope, leadership ownership, and direct impact on financial accuracy, controls, and major transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee global general ledger accounting operations, ensuring accounting transactions are recorded accurately and consistently across the enterprise.

  • Manage timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes in alignment with U.S. GAAP and internal policies.

  • Design, implement, and maintain accounting processes and internal controls to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, COSO, and statutory or local regulations.

  • Own balance sheet governance, including reconciliation, review, and monitoring of balance sheet metrics and issues across the organization.

  • Oversee global accounting processes for key areas such as capital and inventory.

  • Lead, develop, and manage the general ledger team within the Financial Shared Services Center, ensuring consistent accounting practices and effective workload management.

  • Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to support accounting treatment for business changes, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.

  • Drive education, awareness, and adherence to global accounting policies across the organization.

  • Manage internal and external audit activities by preparing required documentation and serving as the primary accounting contact for auditors.

  • Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems, tools, and processes, including participation in ERP implementation initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred, MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Experience in public accounting and manufacturing industry environments.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, COSO framework, and internal control implementation, including anti-fraud controls.

  • Experience leading accounting teams and managing shared services or centralized accounting functions.

  • Proficiency with accounting and financial reporting systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and translate it into actionable insights.

  • Some travel is required.

  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $112,000 to $140,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.  While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
